Being exclusive on ANY platform would allow them the opportunity to focus resources on optimizing for one system to max potential. That being said, there's no way it would ever happen, not in today's market.

why are they still using the smallest maps of any game ever made in this arena yet Call of Duty is still number one somehow. Once again, if it were a PlayStation exclusive it could have, lets see... I don't know, maybe some giant maps more like Killzone 2. Maybe if the makers of Call of Duty didn't shrink the battlefield down to a four square city block just to make it easier for people to hide in a corner and not have to work to get their kills, it would be a better game.
Because all the action ends up getting concentrated in select areas anyways. Just look at Battlefield games. Those maps are *bleep*ing huge, but everybody immediately gravitates to the objectives and the surrounding areas, and the rest of the map because a pain in the ass to navigate across.

In some cases the with the game certain game modes action does get concentrated in one area but not all of them but isn't that the point of the objective?
Take nuke town the perfect example you couldn't even fit half a football field if it were real but 12 fully armed people blasting away does that make any sense lol

Both map styles have their pros and cons, small maps allow for faster more intense combat more consistently. Really fits the run and gun twitch shooter that is Call of Duty but sniper rifles feel ill-suited to the smaller maps in the games.

Larger maps allow a bit more variety and make vehicles a more accessible addition to the gameplay as well as include true long ranged combat.

Yes I agree 100% with you on the sniper rifle small map issue.
And with the fact that smaller maps make the combat more intense.
You know what I agree with everything you wrote
