John from PixelApocalypse.com takes on the idea of hyper-sexualization in our video games, and the complex it could be giving gamers regarding their own physique...

"If you are of a certain age and can remember the 80’s, which even questioning makes me feel like an old-man, you remember the testosterone driven action films that helped define the era. People would line up to catch the latest films by Jean-Mel Stachwartzanorris, each with a paper thin plot and an ultra-violent, muscle-bound, and under dressed leading man killing along-side an unusually well-endowed woman. These films were hypersexual, overly indulgent in sexuality, to their very core."

eh...some decent points, but whatever. Nothing new, sex sells. Why would gaming be any different.

Also, Hypersexuality is a ridiculous term. If something is Hypersexual there better be some goddamn nudity.

"Sex sells". Leave it at that. Nothing else to really say. There hasn't been a girl (that I've seen) in any game save maybe a DS game that isn't 'busty' as hell. Everything the creater's can do to bump rating/sell the game, they will do

I present Farah from Sands of Time, a genuinely relate-able and Human heroine with an equal amount of flaws and endearments which don't boil down to being some sexy but stupid princess needing to be saved or the sexy badass emo action girl. Ignore Two Thrones.

... and yeah, she's all I've got on that one

Elika from the HD Prince of Persia would probably count as well. And there's Alyx from the Half Life 2 games.

That's all I can think of, off the top of my head.

I wouldn't count Elika since she's a forced love interest who ditzily follows you around and needs saving even though she's more powerful than the actual Protag.
