Game Podunk's blogger, MonkJammas, writes a blog entry that compares two story driven games from last year, Heavy Rain and Vanquish. Read on for more to see what made both games unique.

Vanquish was pretty much non-stop action, with breaks only emerging so that a character could throw some gruff cheesy banter about and remind the player how much of a testosterone fuelled alpha male they were. It is the 80’s action movie of video games, realising that script and story don’t really matter as long as the audience comes out saying “My god that crap was awesome”. Vanquish embraced this attitude with aplomb, allowing the player to shoot and destroy all manners of highly powered robots and mechs.

While both games were great, Vanquish could have been better if it had a story to go along with it. With today's technology, both should be done to the best of the developer's abilities... great games at polar opposites of the gaming spectrum.
