Reported Diablo 3 caused death

The latest viral marketing of Dead Space 2 certainly got the attention publishers hoped for, but Game Podunk blogger, MonkJammas writes that there is more to this message. Read on for more.
Brilliant isn’t it? If you think that this is the case, then you are in fact twelve years old. At least, according to the commenting portion of the internet you are. Personally, I am not twelve years old and I still loved it. I was already planning on buying Dead Space 2 so it is not actually going to make me buy the game, and the simple premise of mothers not liking it isn’t going to make anyone over the age of twelve buy it. But that does not mean the advert is aimed at twelve year olds, especially considering anyone who is actually twelve years old can’t buy it anyway. The advert has done something that all adverts strive to achieve; it has become part of the zeitgeist. The level of controversy that this advertising campaign has attracted is exactly what the publishers and marketing agency would have wanted. Dead Space 2 is suddenly on the tip of everybody’s tongue. Not only is the advert being shown and debated on every gaming website, parodies have sprung up all over youtube with people recording their own mother’s reaction. The campaign has officially gone viral, and this sort of publicity cannot be bought.
