graphics wise, RAGE looks much better on consoles than Crysis 2 does.

Right now none of the games have truly come out and really shown what the game will look like on consoles. Each when showing off footage have deliberately made the HUD hard to see to hide any tell tale prompts. Whether this is due to the console versions looking noticeably different to the PC version I don't know, but Xbox 360 gamers will find out on Tuesday how good Crysis 2 really looks and plays as the multiplayer demo is out.

Crysis 2 for me, Rage looks just like Borderlands and while it was a good game, it is not something that interests me in playing again. If Crysis 2 plays like it should, it should be a very action packed FPS with solid gameplay.

Though, I am wondering why they picked these two games, Crysis 2 is in Q1 and Rage is in Q3... Not much of a "this or that" scenario...

I believe they chose them because no game this year will be pushing the limits of graphics like they are. I mean you ask any one which game they think will have the best graphics and most will say the new Crysis or RAGE. They are both games built predominantly around the old school ideal of lets make it look as pretty as possible first and then try to figure out the gameplay.

I was about to suggest Killzone 3 and Uncharted 3, but then I read your last sentence about graphics over gameplay and realized neither of those games fit into that criteria
