The next handheld "generation" won't be much of a battle as we think, but it's definitely doing to be an interesting one. OXCGN takes a brief look at this situation.

Throughout history, Nintendo has christened each new console they release with at least one impressive title available on day one. The NES had Super Mario Bros, SNES had Super Mario World, N64 had Super Mario 64… the list goes on.

In the past week, Sony unveiled the NGP (Next Generation Portable), the successor to the PSP. It’s pretty much a handheld PS3, and Nintendo has no way to compete with it.

Not only is the NGP already a victor in terms of technological power, but the launch lineup is looking to be groundbreaking. With day-one entries from Resistance, LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted and Killzone (and many more to be announced), we now turn to compare how the 3DS will fare on March 27th [in the US].

I'm going to be buying a PSP2 anyway. I was originally getting a 3DS until the PSP2 was announced.

It's inevitable that Nintendo will win with all their shovelware and everyone and their nan wanting a damn DS =/

I haven't really been paying attention to the 3DS, so I don't know exactly what kind of line up it has. As the articles states however, the 3DS will win sale wise no matter what. Barring the NGP really taking off for some reason or another.

By this model I predict that the PSP and the PS3 will drag the DS and the Wii through the mud in what will no doubt by a landslide victory!

(...Hmm? Nintendo did better tha-... Double the sales you say? For Nintendo? Hmm...)
