Jak and Daxter, a marriage made in gaming heaven. While the game's main protagonist may have (originally) been a mute, he was always shadowed by the irrepressible wit and charm of Daxter, his best friend who - after a regrettable incident with some shape-changing eco - turned into an orange rodent. In the original game, the player found themselves in a bright and refreshing platformer in which you would run, jump, punch and kick your way to 'Power Cells'. It was a successful formula, but the second game in the series was astonishingly different, swapping punches and kicks for guns, big cities and hovercars. Reception was mixed for Jak 2, but Naughty Dog soon rectified these fears as they released Jak 3, a merger of the two titles that created a truly breathtaking and incredibly fun game.
