Major retailers like Amazon and GameStop offer less value for your used games than you could get by selling them yourself online. To make matters worse, they then charge more to buy pre-owned titles than they cost elsewhere! Take a look at these trade-in values in comparison to their prices on eBay.

Always great to see a pledge for at least considering a different approach to selling games. But in general, you should never sell games. And what with one-time activation codes and such being implemented, the used market is being hit anyway.

I can only assume this is an American thing; the games I've traded in recently are selling for significantly less on eBay than I got for them. Not sure if that applies to cash trade-ins as well, but certainly with credit.

I make it a point to avoid selling or trading in my games, period. Even if I don't like the game today, I could always feel the urge tomorrow. When you're really bored, playing through your old library passes time faster than anything else.

That's the exact reason I don't trade, or even sell, my games. I always like having the option to replay them at some later date, even years down the line I may have an urge to play a certain game again. Every now and then I'll still get the urge to play Spyro even.

Yeah I like building up my collection. I currently have about 275 video games across all consoles. I wish I didn't trade in my Sega Genesis when I was a kid though because I probably had like 50 games for it.

I mostly only trade games that suck.

I currently have 93PS3(probaby a few more) and 180 PS2 games.Over 50 PS1 games and however many DS, GBA, PSP, Wii and SNES games.

I'm the kind of person that will go back and play most of my games again and again over the years.

There has been times when I have wanted to save money and have traded in games and I have usually ended up regretting it.So now I only get rid of the worst of the worst games.
