PC games have been doing this for years. Now that the technology is available to do it with console games, it's only logical.

A lot of PC games do come in jewel cases or as sleeves in boxes but I just got Civilization V and it came in a plastic case, just like any regular game so it seems like PC is moving in the opposite direction almost.

Can't say any I've spotted many PC games which weren't packaged like console games, but that just goes to show why a paper manual isn't practical for many games.

I beg to differ about the paper manuals. I'd rather those, so that I don't have to look on my computer screen or whatever TV/Monitor I'm using to game on. All that backlit reading can be too much for eyes at times.

Reading on REAL Paper, is much more practical to me.
