Matthew from ThumbPad.com.au gives us good reason to get excited about EA's new Battlefield Bad Company 3 title set to release later this year. With games like Call of Duty Black Ops and the high standard it sets Battlefield is looking like it may take the number one spot this year for FPS army based games.

So enough with the PC talk, Battlefield 3 will be running on the Frostbite 2 engine, which has been in development for more then 3 years. Dice have actually wanted to bring Battlefield 3 to us earlier but they haven't been able to create their vision with previous versions of Frostbite. The new Frostbite engine has an animation program called ANTS, which is featured in the Fifa games. This program makes moving from different positions look more realistic, no more of that jerky awkward movement that you occasionally see when someone is moving from a crouching position to sprinting. It also has an improved sound system, many advanced rendering/lighting techniques and an improved destruction ability. EA believes they can cause a dint in Call of Duties popularity and rightly so.

I am wicked excited for Battlefield 3. Mostly because of the features confirmed for PC. It's a shame that modding isn't going to have any support though.
