The PSN and Sony website have officially been hacked by a hacker group called Anonymous. What they failed to realize though is that they have done far more damage to their kind then Sony. Check out this story.

Too bad they *bleep*ed it up for gamers as well. They say they are fighting for gamers yet their childish cry babay stunt left some gamers with no PSN. I was wondering why PSN wouldn't work yesterday and now I know it was because of this bullshit.

How about the hacker pricks man up and do something proper about it instead of going all vigilante.

They want to fight? Fine, but do it in a proper manner and stop being little bitches and crying because they can't have their damn way.

You can live a day or two without the Playstation Network. Remember when Playstation didn't have internet? I used it for games back then; those were the times *nostalgic tear*.

What strong hate throughout these responses for what is essentially the closest anarchist thought towards the idealism portrayed in Fight Club. How else do you propose they fight? Go to Sony corporate offices and arrange some fisticuffs with the suits? Yes, the manner in which most of these action impose themselves is very crass, but I think it's a good thing that people are willing to rally against injustice; for 'free speech' nonetheless (granted, more the choice to do illegal things). There's benevolence to be found in a group of unnamed warriors that stick up for the common man, singled out and demonized by those in power, in any given instance. It's all a matter of perspective I suppose.

Not having PSN doesn't bother me.What bothers me is that I was forced FORCED to not use PSN because a bunch if little sooks want to chuck a temper tantrum

But hey, I'm playing Resident Evil Directors cut on my PS3 so I don't need PSN.

Think about this, some of you are think we are a sooky because we had to miss out on PSN for a while. But at the same time, you are sticking up for people who are having their own little sook because some features were removed.

So really you are condemning us for the outcome (sooking) as them only for a different reason.

You do make a good point against my proper fight remark and one I myself thought of after posting.

But that doesn't change the fact that I think they are a bunch of cry babies.

Like I said over in the gen PS3 forum, I'm a little annoyed at the removal of certain features but personallY I just live with it.It's not that big of a deal.

I guess in the end, we all have our opinions on whether they are doing good or if they are a bunch of little shits.

It's only forced, because you're aware of it. Sony marketed it themselves as 'sporadic maintenance, so other people unaware of it wouldn't even notice and carry on.

And you're right, we all have an opinion; I simply don't wish to look down upon my fellow man, as this could be anyone; your neighbor, that girl across the street, the puppy vendor who's always up for basketball, that strange CIA guy with the bear shirt, etc.

Yeah... no PSN for like 3 hours. Not really a big deal.

oh please, they are nothing but a bunch of kids. "We are legion." How young and what fantasy land are these nerds in. They will be forgotten in a couple days. If not, they could end up in jail for BREAKING THE LAW! Bunch of hypocrites...

Depends how you look at it. People say two wrongs don't make a right, but I beg to differ.

Well the 1 wrong (assaulting Sony because they're petty children) certainly doesn't make a right, if that's what you mean.

By "right" you mean shifting public support to Sony? Because that's the only benefit anyone got out of this.

You think they're going to get jail time for this? I don't think you've heard what these idiots have done in the past. They've messed with people bigger than Sony and have never gotten caught. They're not hackers either, they just use a program that anyone can get.

You have to 18 and over to join their message board btw.

Since when is "Anonymous" considered a hacker group? News to me, last I checked the whole idea of "Anonymous" was that it was a collective of random people that just did whatever when they felt like it, which isn't exclusively hacking by any means.

They're probably just doing this to make people mad, not to fight Sony. There's so many pissed off people now, it's pretty hilarious how mad people are getting because they weren't able to go on PSN for three hours.

considering that is something that comes with the system we pay for... Why say that as though it is a bad thing to be mad? We deserve the PSN to be hack free, anything else should make us upset.

It is hack free, it just got taken down. It's basically the same amount of time Sony sometimes takes PSN down for maintenance. Really people are getting really butthurt, not really on this site but on other news sites, just because PSN was taken offline by a bunch of 40 year old idiots in their basements.

I think its safe to say that they successfully trolled most of the PS3-community. I'd understand if PSN was down for a whole week or something... but it was three hours.

And Anonymous probably knows they can't overpower a big company like Sony. You're acting like all of Anonymous worked together and did this where it could have been five people that post on the same message board.

You do realize how awful that sentence is right?

This whole case is such a big piece of crap. I get Sony is protecting their property and are perfectly in their rights to do this but seriously, this is the wrong way to do everything. It really does send out the wrong message to customers I think. And I admittedly love Anon's response, it's so typical of them and classic to see, but it's hard to say what Sony's response will be.

The reason, I think, they're doing this is because the proper way didn't work. So now they're using an improper way to bring justice. And apparently Sony's lawfirm is also down. Probably due to Anon, not SonyRecon as they have been stating they're only in it to gather information to help Geohot, not personally attack Sony and Sony related people.
