Indeed, it annoys me when Websites and Games Companies just completely block out the rest of the world and pretend that only America exists.

I know it can be frustrating, but there are obvious reasons for doing NA only. Part of it being the costs involved in sending stuff overseas and dealing with any import duty and tax the destination country has (wouldn't be such a great giveaway if the winner still had to pay those).

Yeah, I'm not too bothered when websites do it, it's just when games companies do it, surely they can afford to send the goods overseas =/

It's not about the money of sending it over. It's all about the deals made with the 3rd party services.

EA has a Dr Pepper promotion happening with multiple titles yet it is US only. Dr Pepper call the shots in the promotion, allowing only US and Canadian residents to grab the codes from the special Dr Pepper bottles. This means either a few US and CAN residents grab a few more bottles to give away those codes or they are sold to EU residents so they can get in on the event.

Not to mention there are legal issues as well, in other words most game companies, if not all of them have a US legal department and EU legal department. Certain things have to be passed through them both or depending on what the contest is, it could be fine in the US but not fine in the EU or vice versa

Which overall means two things 1) they postpone the contest and try to think of ways to allow the contest in both areas or 2) they go ahead with only one and leave the others out.
