As we all know now, a faceless group known as the "Anonymous" was responsible for bringing down the Playstation Network recently. But this isn't the first time they've set out to administer their distinct brand of justice by any means necessary.

I stopped reading when I saw "the unjust treatment of Geohot."

There is absolutely NOTHING unjust about the way they handled the Geohot case. The guy made a jailbreak that was on the verge of breaking every online shooter in the market, not to mention it opened doors to game pirating on the PS3.

And tell me why someone would be led to do this? He didn't exactly give much of a shit about the PS3 until Sony started removing features. All this is Sony's fault, really... Geohot and Anonymous, they're standing up for Sony's consumerbase the way I think about it.

Geohot's hack was the source of such games as Modern Warfare and AC Brotherhood getting their multiplayer hacked, and I repeat, was a harbinger of piracy for the PS3.

Moreover, the attacks of Anonymous caused PSN to shut down for an entire day, cutting off thousands of consumers from their online service.

Preach all day about Geohot being a friggin visionary; in the end, his work ended up being the cause of consumer unrest everywhere. Of gamers who still use their systems honestly, nothing good came from Geohot's work.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. What Geohot has been getting so far is the very epitome of justice. Evidence is being brought forth from both sides and testimonies given, hell he hasn't even been convicted yet. At least wait until the verdict before you go making him a martyr.

so... the only thing positive Anonymous has done is discredit Jack Thompson... The Gamestop prank calls was completely immature and shows the true nature of these nerds. Racist and immature. happy about the Jack Thompson thing, but no one likes Jack Thompson. What a over-hyped group...

Anonymous has done a lot of better things than this, they're obsessed with freedom and they see it as a threat where a big company like Sony is "bullying" Geohot, it has nothing to do with them being hackers.

So now everyone hates Anonymous over this? It's pretty hilarious how people pick certain consoles and favorite companies over others and defend them to the death like their religion. Never understood that at all.

How is Anonymous racist? If you mean all those jokes they make, they're jokes, nothing more. Half of the stuff Anonymous does is to solely piss people off, and it's pretty funny. The Scientology ordeal was gold.

These guys can't really be considered racist, they're wicked far left. All of that Habbo stuff was for shits and giggles, pretty much.

I still don't get the point of the Habbo Hotel incident. Then again, I didn't really read that much into it.

I hated Anonymous for sticking up for a hacker, not this article. Also, this has nothing to do with allegiance to any company. You saying that is simply a cop-out for what is really going on. I hate hackers, I dislike people who support hackers, and I hate people who attack others who are trying to stop hackers. In this case, Anonymous gets all 3 strikes.

I joke with my friends too, but I do not use racial slurs to do it, STOP defending them. They are immature little brats who have to resort to racial slurs to make a joke. How could you possibly say "everyone does it, it is just a joke."
