Good article, I do agree that retail wise PC gaming is dying. Even in the UK its getting less and less in our game and gamestation stores.

But the way Steam works is the way of the future for PC gaming, if you were to take one look at their service you would see that PC gaming is very much alive and kicking.

Steam just keeps getting better and better and we can only expect other services to turn up in the future to challenge it.

Indeed, there's already many other digital distribution options being setup as I type this. There's a lot of things to like about the system, such as the instant access and the removal of issues like scratched discs. And it's also clever from a business standpoint. For example, people will part with virtual money a lot quicker than they would with the real thing, since in your mind it helps to remove the concept of loss.

Add this article to the pile of the thousands of other articles that have asked the same question. C'mon come up with something more inventive.

Like how we can come up with an impulse-driven gaming system linked to our white blood-cells?

With the current gargantuan rises in digital sales this year and last year, I think this is still topical. It's not like it's stating the decade old stigma that "Pc gaming is dead".
