With the recent outage of the Playstation Network taking longer than expected to resolve, the question arises: Does Sony owe us anything? Is Sony responsible for giving me a freebie?

If you pay for the service, I think it'd be fair to give you an additional week before you need to renew. Other than that, they don't owe anyone anything. PSN is free, so no one is losing money except Sony. All gamers are losing is their patience. Just hold your damn horses, quit your belly-aching, and wait it out.

I totally agree with you. I am a ps+ member, but still do not believe that I deserve something. Technology is not perfect. There are sometimes issues and I may not get to play online for a little while. Who cares? Go out and do something, read a book, or play that thing called a single player. I know that it is not like playing real people, but go show that AI how much you have learned on the multiplayer.

I don't necessarily agree with the idea that Sony doesn't owe anyone for this outage. The PS3 has always been advertised as an online console, and a large number of its games and features revolve around that. Even if it is free, the PS3 can't be used to its fullest while its offline.

Not going to rage or blame Sony or anything, but that's my view.

What about guys like me that paid for DC Universe and haven't been able to get on?

I did not even think about the MMO guys who can't play the game that they already paid a monthly fee for. You do deserve something.

That's definitely not a smart business choice, though. Technically, no one owes us anything. We aren't owed patches or updates, hell, it's not like we had that available for us before the seventh generation.

I've been put off from playing Mortal Kombat OFFLINE because of the 'DRM'-like setup. It's like...can't I play without needing internet to retrieve the damn trophy information? That's beyond lame. Also have Portal 2 for PS3, no co-op for me. And with Spring Break, family/friends visiting, we were going to use the PS3.

Also, inFamous 2 demo being delayed sucks big time, and it's due to this outage.

If Sony doesn't do something to gain the users respect again, then they will suffer this year.

Although the service is free and the only individuals losing money out of this is Sony, I've recently been made aware that the people responsible for hacking the PSN, which has caused this delay in online availability could have had the chance to obtain credit card details from any people who have purchased something over psn, using a crdit card. If this is the case, then surely Sony owes something to these individuals?

Oh yes, they owe us ALOT for this, especially because all of our details are now in the hackers hands, our passwords, credit card details and living information.

We should all get 1 - 2 free classic PSOne games of our own choosing and a free 2months of PSN+.

    Seriously.
