Sony is going to be very hard-pressed to recover from the recent hacking of PSN. Financial costs and loss of customer loyalty mount every day the service remains down. After the way they tried to hide what happened, Sony may not be able to ever fix public perception of their company. This console war is over.

"The console war is over" = "Pc gaming is dead"

    Non-existent point.

The only worthy point is the second last paragraph, other than that, nothing worth noting, without branding a fanboy stamp on it. Views uber alles.

It's worth noting the person who published this article, aka the same person who posted "Why fighting games suck"

Since that article, I've seen his opinion to be insanely biased, it's a crappy opinion at best.

The console war is over? Yeah ok, it's definitely over, especially with all the exclusives Sony has coming out this year compared to the 360's.

The console "war" is FAR from over.

Exclusives don't matter when you can't play them online or if people don't trust their information is secure enough to bother purchasing content.

Edit: And did you really just say I've seen his opinion to be that of his own? Really!?

Yet another terrible article. Though it is clear that Sony screwed up despite fanboys continuing to defend them regardless (which it pretty hilarious may I add), claiming that the "war" is over due to this is utterly ridiculous.

Whoever approves articles on Gamegrep, start reading them more closely and be more strict with what gets put on, shitty articles are starting to become more of a common occurrence.

Console war is over? Bullshit. Just because their network got hacked doesn't mean they're closing down shop for good. Hell, Microsoft could get hacked tomorrow as well with the same results.

Gamegrep articles, why you always so shit when I wander in here to read you?

its not over yet. i wouldnt be surprised if some PS3 owners got pissed enough to "jump ship" over to 360 though. many will still stick with Sony but i know some will switch.

people won't buy a 360 over this. People who have both like me are on XBL, but when this is resolved I'm probably going to go back to PSN. I'm keeping my 360 around for Gears 3, after that releases I'll probably sell it.

The console war ended a long time ago for me. PS3 is my console of choice, 360 for those exclusives I want, and my Wii for classic gaming. I doubt I'll dip into the next gen since I'm very happy with what I have now.

For me the ' console war' never began. As soon as the PS3 was announced it was the one console to have above all. Ever since the PS1 Sony's consoles were THE console to have.

What kind of a moron would be a 360 just because PSN was down for 2 weeks. It's not like it's a regular thing. some people are so stupid

You're missing the point of why people are mad.

um, its more about how not only is our personal info out there for whoever to use, but that Sony doesnt seem to care about it. thats more than enough reason for a few people to say "if this is how you treat your clients Sony then screw you" and leave.

right now its hard to call MS worse than Sony. Live didnt totally get the crap hacked out of it and MS didnt practically hand everyone's personal info to hackers. and if it did happen i guarantee they would be apologetic about it, not all like "oh sorry your info got into the hands of random people, we dont really care though "

yes Live has been down for a couple weeks in the past, but that was only due to an update MS performed that ended up screwing up a lot of things they hadnt expected. but that was right at 13 or 14 days. PSN is up to what, 11-12 days now and they are saying it may or may not be up by Monday or Tuesday?

Actually I think it's more to the fact that 2.2 million credit card numbers were stolen and now may be up for sale.

      http://mashable.com/2011/04/29/psn-credit-cards/

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's that.

I thought it was over when Nintendo made both Sony and Microsoft it's undeniable bitches. Who the hells still competing?
(Full disclosure I've had every console this generation, gotta give credit where it's due)
