Characters That Don't Need An HD Remake

Gaming Irresponsibly's Chris Reiter looks into the pros and cons of a new console generation. Playing devil's advocate, he raises questions to ask if new technology is really needed right now.
Do we as gamers need to go through this procedure all over again? Aren’t you tired of upgrading to the next console just because it’s available for sale? Counting it all up, the average gamer spends about $1,000-$2,000 per year on video games. This statistic reflects the current generation itself. What will it be for the next one? The possibility to hook us all into another crazy gimmick for developers so that they may snag hold onto more of our money seems possible, if things go their way.

Didn't read the article, but I shall answer the question and, no.
To me this current generation is still doing fine and I don't think we have seen the full potential of the PS3/360 yet. Nintendo needed to release something because the Wii, afterall was just a Gamecube with a motion controller.
I'm looking forward to seeing Nintendo's next home console, but I do not want to see the PS4 or 720, unless of course the Wii 2 as you may call it happens to be super powerful, with HD VR headsets lol.
PS1 - 95
PS2 - 00
PS3 - 06
Snes - 92
N64 - 97
Gamecube - 01
Wii - 06
This gen started in 2006 and that was 5 years ago, we are due the next lot of console whether you/me like it or not.
I am kind of disappointed in the amount of games for this generation in comparison to the PS2, but you have to remember that was a different time with different scenarios for the developers.
If the economy does not get better, the next generation of systems will probably get a pretty bad start...
The reason why they seem expensive than they were 15 years ago is due to the increase in fuel and everything else which has a knock on effect.
The prices haven't changed, if anything its a more bog standard price now. I can remember Virtual Racing getting released on the Megadrive and being £70!!
