wow, do I agree with that completely and I am a regular customer to Gamestop. I find myself more knowledgeable than some of the employees when it comes to games as well. But what really pisses me off is the used games deals. Everyone here kept complaining about the EA and activision passes, but it makes sense. Gamestop does not deserve all that money, they did not do shit. The companies deserve the money for the games. I always buy new games because I support the companies so they can make me more games. They need to make a deal or something with Gamestop to get money off of used games. Good read to say the least, even though I do not really agree with the pre-order argument you gave.

I agree with a lot of the points here. What really grinds my gears is used games. Every single person I know in real life buys used just to save 3 bucks, and none of them actually know that they're not supporting the developer. I just find it hilarious how people criticize the PC for being an insecure platform because of the amount of piracy, when these 'used games' are just as if not more rampant than piracy on the PC.

Why used game sales do hurt the industry I wouldnt blame the gamer for that. When you see the next big game out for 60 bucks and it available used for like 45 it's a pretty easy choice for the average joe gamer. If the industry wants to stop this they need to lower the price of new games back down. I'm pretty sure used game sales went up right around the time that $10 price hike came around.

It isn't that big if a difference, it's only by like 4 or 5 bucks at my Gamestop.

Well right now you can buy Black Ops online from Gamestop new for 59.99 or used for 49.99. Bulletstorm is selling for 42.99 used and 59.99 new. It depends on the game sure, but the average person who's been wanting to play the game is gonna pick the used version more often then not.

game prices dont really need to come, Gamestop just needs to give a % of their used game sales to the companies... Even if they give 25% of their earnings, it would help quite a bit.

Well lets use for example when I traded in MW:2 to Gamestop a while back and I got $27 in credit. I saw it on sale used for about 50 bucks later while browsing for a game to buy. Now yes at first glance this reacted a WTF from me but when you think about it, it makes sense. The publishers and developers didn't lose that $27 from the original $60 Gamestop did and they need a way to make it back. Yes the perfect solution would be to give the game companies a percentage but Gamestop also needs to be able to make a profit.

I agree with what was said in the article but about the pre-ordering. The pre-ordering keeps me from missing out on the game from the beginning week of it being out. Without pre-orders, I wouldn't have had as much fun on release week. They only ship a certain amount of cases to each gamestop on release to conserve the amount made. Everything else makes sense though.
