it seems that no matter where Sony is or whatever they try to do, someone is out to make them them look bad. Anonymous managed to severely cripple Sony's reputation...

One: the platform this article takes is stupid. Two: I think Sony's pretty much f**ked now.

Yeah, a bit too much talk about Sony "disrespecting" freedom of speech and property.

Still, interesting to know that the company is still taking hits. Hope they find a way to deal with this stuff.

I still fail to see how protecting your own product is an infringement on 'free speech' and disrespectful. GeoHotz hacked the PS3, putting them in danger of losing millions if the hacking got to the point where games could simply be chipped and shipped. (Translation; shared digitally)

Can't wait for these dorks to get their monitors ripped away from them, only a matter of time now...

But on a flip note SONY are still pretty bollocked.

Wow, sony is the victim here and you have people who are disappointed in Sony themselves. That is like blaming the people in the World Trade Centers for the terrorist attacks, smart move dipshits.

Sony is in a world of hurt right now though, but people are simply idiots with a very low IQ if they do not see Sony as the victim here.

Predators attack the weakest and slowest. That should in no way be Sony, yet here we are.

Why can't people just see that hacking and modifying a console in any way is a breach of the Terms of Service in any console, it's always on the warranty, on the statement you accept, in the manual etc etc.

The guy who hacked the PS3 would have been fine hacking it though really, if he'd just kept it to himself and not made it public on the whole internet how to hack it =/

That was actually my first thought when this outbreak first started. None of this stuff would have happened if Geo hadn't decided to share his hack with the world.

Not to mention Geo's enormous ego propelled him to enter a legal battle which, for the most part, he ended up losing.

An understandable motive despite the overly-excessive force instilled in order to simply prove a point to the faceless, corporate beast.
