With Square Enix releasing multiple spinoffs and MMO games that are basically broken, has this company lost touch with its audience and what could they do to win us back?

Squaresoft was a major part of my childhood growing up. Knowing for Christmas or my birthday I had a 40+ hour RPG present waiting for me to divulge into was all I wanted. Every month, my excitement grew more and more for each game they developed as I flipped to the RPG section of my GamePro magazine and drooled over the two or three new screenshots they provided.

They lost their touch a while ago if we're honest. Final Fantasy 7, 10 and Star Ocean: till the end of time. I loved those games but everything after those has been utter crap

Seriously? When is the first PS3 KH title going to come out? I was expecting it to have been announced like 2 years ago >_

Your saying 10 is better than 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9? Your off your damn rocker really.

Plus FFXIII wasn't as bad as everyone says, it's just because they changed the battle system people got pissed.

They didn't make Star Ocean, Tri-Ace did. In fact, they were mocked in the game as some kind of big brother organization.

8 and 9 didn't do it for me, never played any of the older ones so I can't comment. XIII was terrible, i really tried to like it because i liked the story but the game itself was awful. They didn't just change the battle system, they changed everything

XIII was awful for me, until later on in the game, when it became more open world and the missions unlocked, bringing back the FF style of play and the challenging fights, I still have yet to finish all the missions but all I can say is they get insanely harder later on in the missions.

You should really try and play FF4/5/6 as they are easily some of the best if not THE best FF's in the series.

Right because Final Fantasy XIII and XIV not meeting expectations means Squares lost it's touch. Have all of you forgotten the brilliance that was FFXII?

      Yes, we have.

I kid. FFXII was amazing and shows the sort of game FFXIII should have been. Open, mysterious, beautiful, elaborate and full of things to do. Not just run down technology's most tediously beautiful hallway for twenty hours, or however long it was. I stopped before the semi-final boss.

Versus XIII will either be the saving grace or final nail in the coffin, it all rests squarely on the shoulders of one particular Japanese game director...
