Our favorite video game characters and plot lines seem like they would make great movies but many have tried and many have failed. Select few video game movie adaptations work but why?

Since the beginning, seeing our favorite video game characters and their worlds on the big screen has always been an intriguing prospect. Similarly, interacting with our favorite big screen actors and villains via a video game has been equally as novel. However, it seems that whoever attempts to satisfy the desire for games to appear as movies or movies to appear as games generally seems to muck it up and churn out something just short of a fresh turd on a hot day.
