With the natural improvements of gaming systems and how much technology is moving forward it's exciting to think what could be on the next generation of consoles but PCs' hold the upper hand in the graphics department with a perfect example of the GTA mod in the article.

Here's the point :
Graphic : immersion
Gameplay : fun
Have only one of the other, you have a decent game. Combine them both that you have a stellar game.
First, while PC's may have higher processing power and computing capabilities, they also lack a singular optimised build. When you don't have to take into account the dozens of different parts someone's computer could possess you get a lot more out of the machine.
Second, since most games on PC are multiplatform they're not going to be using some of that extra power anyway. They'll try they're hardest to use technology compatible with all the machines.
Does this completely close the gap? Maybe not. Does it matter anyway? No. Believe it or not, I just want to play fun and interesting games. If you think you need a supercomputer's worth of graphics to keep yourself immersed, then go right ahead.
So what's up with the paying 5 times the price comment whenever a better looking PC game/version appears? It's a myth.
I guess no one told developers from Poland that the PC is not a great platform to make games with. We have the Witcher 1 and 2 and soon Hard Reset, a PC exclusive FPS. These guys are making games engines from almost out of thin air and they always start with the PC regardless of what others say what a bitch it is. Whatever happened to the old Western PC games pioneers (id, Epic for example) from 90s who were never deterred by the troublesome PC? Only the modders are what's left of those pioneers' legacy.
I love my computer, built it myself, and it can run games. I don't wanna fight with it because weird compatibility issues though. Plug and play, and most games are spec'd so consoles can run them anyway so they should care.
