Nintendo in the last week or so announced it was cutting the price of the 3DS to $169.99, the President of Nintendo Satoru Iwata is taking a 50% pay cut, and their quarterly earnings for the 2nd half of 2011 showed the company lost $300 million. Some seem to think this bad news could spell more trouble for Nintendo. What does Nintendo need to do to change things around?

They need to say The Wii U was just a E3 joke and just develop a hardcore next gen gaming console. Call it something like the Super NES 2 (and make their parents want it too)....anythings better than Wii U.

Right because a console itself can be hardcore, cause that makes sense. Would my xbox 360 still be 'hardcore' if all I had bought for it were crappy animated movie based games?

Making a console as powerful as today's 360 and PS3 will only limit developers (again) when the next gen consoles hit.

when 95% of a system's games are casual (Wii) that tends to make the console as a whole feel casual.
