Parents should not feel bad about having game systems in their home," said Cheryl Olson, a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and co-author of "Grand Theft Childhood"

If your kids have a Play Station or a Nintendo Wii, odds are at some point or another you've felt like nothing in the world could tear them away from it. That's because video games are fun. Yes, fun not only for them, but potentially for you as well. Instead of struggling to get the controllers out of their hands this summer, you might consider picking one up yourself.

Anyone else thinking being a parent will be nothing like when we were growing up? In our days, we had to force our parent(s) to just listen to us about games. In the next generation, children will have to force the controller out of our cold, dead, hands just to have their turn on the PSWii720.

Province yes for sure however life is ever changing. the days of working as a faimly to hunt kill and gather are long and gone. as a replacement we teach them how to live how to be smart how to make money to get there food and survival. while things change people will always be the same we do not change just the tech. you want to eat you got to work for it just like in the cave men day's. you can not change the nature of the world. I personally think video games now are used just like the tv was used for us growing up. a way to keep us buys clam us down and a 3rd parent. that said i see a lot of kids on video games that seem to be missing there 1st and 2nd parent which leaves a lot of what they learn up to the gaming world. Needless to say we do not need little kids going on line hearing adults say "im going to rape you" then everyone cracking up and thinking its a good thing. time does not change tech changes and how we use it changes. but life is no video game there is no on and off button. Life is about doing better "winning" and such so some values from video games are good.
