Metal Gear Solid 5 Confirmed: Who, What, When, Where, And Most Importantly… WHY?!

Hideo Kojima is one of gaming's biggest icons, and quite possibly one of the best storytellers we may ever know.

Fans of the series accepted after Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots that Kojima was moving on, and the news of another main iteration with Kojima at the helm comes as shocking news.

OXCGN has a speculative article about what game five may contain.

It’s been years since we’ve had any sort of concrete information on Rising, the first Metal Gear Solid title to be done by Kojima Productions, but with Kojima himself not at the helm. We’ve known since the less than stellar Konami E3 “conference” that he is in fact up to a new project, but details are virtually nonexistent.

Today, news has spread like wildfire that Metal Gear Solid 5 is real, being made, and that Kojima is at the helm.

    hmm, somewhat intrigued about the idea of "Metal Gear Liquid" and playing as him. but it would have to be either before or during MGS1, or after if by some miracle Liquid ended up surviving. which i guess is always possible seeing as how Vamp somehow survived seemingly fatal wounds multiple times.

    or what about something really nuts like Metal Gear Plasma? main character has some kind of plasma based weapon or something LOL.

    I'd like to see a return to Big Boss on the consoles, set between Metal Gear 2 and Metal Gear Solid 1.

      He was still in cryogenic stasis then (or whatever). He was revived post-MGS2.

      I'd actually like to see something between 1 and 2 or between 2 and 4. If not a prequel containing Big Boss.
