With Trine 2 out, Default Prime's Charles Battersby takes a look at its 2009 predecessor to see if this physics/platformer still deserves the average gamer’s attention.
The most unique character in Trine is the Wizard. This wizard can’t cast fireballs or lightning bolts. In fact, he can’t smite his foes with any kind of arcane bolt of death, but he can conjure objects from thin air. Bad guys can be smooshed with giant cubes (And a little help from our old pal Gravity). As the wizard levels up he can conjure more and more objects to build rickety towers that let him circumvent all sorts of obstacles. Who needs fireballs?
