EA has been long at work with Bioware's and Lucas Arts on the most costly video game of all time. They have been working on it for years in the time that they have been working on it there has been 4 COD video games. The new game is set to take aim at some of the biggest RPG and MMORPG video games with aggressive marketing to get users away from other games.

With much of the preview’s and hype ahead of the December 20 release, a large portion of determined success for Star Wars the Old Republic will be based on its ability to compete with World of Warcraft and its stable mate at Blizzard, Diablo 3. Blizzard has already begun to respond to some of the hype for the Old Republic by offering free copies of Diablo 3 with World of Warcraft agreements for current players. It will remain to be seen how successful this approach is in keeping players in the Blizzard stable.

As much as I would to completely agree with this but I don't get the whole competitiveness between these companies just let your game speak for itself and let it stand on its own level and let be loved for it. I mean you never hear ncsoft brag about GW 2 being a wow killer they just let the game speak for itself

I hate the back and forth however, it really does matter. you notice how much more smack they talk before then after? let me explain with a story about Steve Jobs who started Pixar was doing good the problem was the market needed at least 1 new movie a year and they could only do 1 every 2 years due to the money. so they went public allowing people to buy stock in them allowing them to generate more capital to build future things. this is very true of video games. Star wars the old republic has been in the making for a long time and cost more then any other video game ever. they need to raise money with there stock holders to build games years into the future that they dont have the funds to build today.

Microsoft lets Gear speak for it self because Halo is there's. Gears just contracted to xbox 360.. its running out thought. but Microsoft does talk a lot about Halo and how no game would beat halo reach in sales including and they named black ops. Boy where they wrong. in xbox days they gave away halo demos and such with the system it got gamers into it. now they dont do it and need to get back into that as long as its allowed under the law.
