What to do when your console is near death's door?

Especially this generation, gamers have been plagued with this question, do we replace a broken system? What if the system is out of warranty? Then what? By now gamers are noticing its getting toward the end of this generation, should we just hold out for the next big thing? Can we live without the PS3/360 and wait for the WiiU?

    Uh no. The WiiU will probably be less lame than the Wii, and it will lack some of the games that are exclusive to real consoles. If you want to play the good games, you'll replace your near dead console with an updated version.

    It may run quieter, or have be more stable.
