    Nope it shouldn't. No offense but Ratchet and Clank destroys that game. Its the best game Sony has released this year. Im going for Ratchet and Clank.

    Agreed. This award show is laughable. It's basically the same four games in every catagory.
    
    I mean, no Galaxy in Best Original Score? No Call of Duty 4 in Breakthrough Technology? (instead they put Halo 3, which is basically just Halo 2 with upgraded graphics, how is that breakthrough?) No Nintendo EAD Tokyo in Studio of the Year?
    
    The worst of all has to be the GOTY awards. They have Mass Effect listed, yet that game doesn't even release until November 20th. Orange Box is not even a full-brand new game, half of it is recycled from previous games. And Halo 3?? Come on. I guess Mario Galaxy's 97% average review score is not good enough to make the award show.

  I'm shocked that Zelda is on the list, as it came out last year. There are not many worthy wii titles out yet, but Brawl will likely be nominated for multiple awards next year.

  It's not surprising that most of the GotY are Xbox 360 games, they really have the best menu when it comes to all round gaming.

    Well this year anyways. I think if SMG was out earlier than now then it would of been on the list to. I just think that Halo 3 is most likely going to be taking home GOTY.

  Why is Halo 3 in breakthrough technology? I definately think Call of Duty 4 should be in more catagories, it's amazing. I thought Assassains creed would too, espicially Breakthrough technology, it's took freeroam to another level.

  I agree with Saints here, Halo 3 was WAYY overhyped even tho it was a good game. The media has used the power of money to allow halo to completely overshadow all else.

      And yeah, I think Halo 3 is overhyped as well, not a bad game I'm sure, but the hype doesn't reflect the quality of the work...

  I can think of plenty other good games that are far more eligible for GOTY than Halo 3...Bioshock, maybe, but Halo is just overrated.
  
  And how, again, did Halo 3 get nominated for breakthrough tech? It's no different than most FPS, except it's 'Halo'. The graphics aren't even amazing either.

  halo shouldnt be nominated, its just the most over-hyped under-achieving game ever made.
  
  orange box should win every category its nominated in. and im not talking about episode 2 or portal, team fortress 2 just blows them out of the water. if TF2 was released on its own then that would still win everything it was nominated for.

  Godamn it's annoying to see this constant anti-Halo bitching and moaning. I couldn't even HEAR the hype this year because of all the annoying douchebags screaming "THERE'S SO MUCH HYPE."
  
  I don't see much wrong with the list. I'll admit, Halo 3 may not deserve to be on the GOTY nominations and if it wins, I'll be disappointed. But I just find it a little ironic that some of you guys are so biased out the ass that you can't even accept Mass Effect and BioShock are that good.
