Sid Meier's latest game, Civilization Revolution, was put on indefinite hold for the Nintendo Wii. Take Two subsidiary 2K Games seems to have done this last week, apparently to "focus their attention on creating the best possible Civilization experience for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DS platforms".
But the people doing the MTV Multiplayer blog has got in touch with programmer Scott Lewis to find out more.

The Wii version of “Civilization Revolution” had been lagging behind for a while. During last year’s Games Convention in Germany, Firaxis programmer Scott Lewis told me that the Wii version was far off for a number of reasons: the game required a complete reinvention of the interface and completely new art assets. Unlike a great many other multi-platform releases that now have an obligatory Wii version, there was no PlayStation 2 or PSP version of “Civilization Revolution.” Consequently, there were no art assets for the team at Fixaxis to mine from, unless they’re actually made from the ground up for the Wii version.

As a huge Civilization fanboy and a Wii owner, may I just say that this blows all sorts of monkey balls.

    And then some.

    Please make this game.

I'd suggest getting a PS3/XBOX360, but in all honesty, I feel that if they're making it for those consoles, then the Wii deserves one as well, and I myself am both a huge Civ fan and a PS3 fan

The PS3 - 360 transfer better than either to the Wii...

The Wii's specs are well below either...The Wii is somewhere in between PS2/X-Box and the PS3/360...

What they're saying, is basiclly most devs take their PS2 version, and port it over to the Wii...In this case, they have no PS2 version, and to make it for the Wii would basically require a ground-up build...

Sucks for Wii owners, but makes a lot of sense >_>

yeah. have to agree with tallteen. usually ps2, psp and wii is a good combination. like manhunt 2 for example. they would probably have to build a wii version from scratch.
