Anyone who has played a game with a friend or family member will have come across a "You're not allowed to do that" moment at some point in their life. It's the moment in multiplaying gaming when you discover an advantage over your opponent - (Something that will easily put you in the lead) - only to have your opponent scream "You're not allowed to do that!" and make up a new rule to prevent you from winning the game. Your opponent won't want to admit it, but they don't like you using that advantage until they figure out how to do it themselves.
Escapist Magazine's Richard McCormick tells his multiplayr gaming experiences ...
School days were a waiting game, ticking the seconds off until we could dash home and play, our bags bulging with the triple prongs of spare Nintendo 64 controllers. Lunch breaks were spent reliving past conquests and planning for future marathon sessions. Our passion for Mario Kart 64 spawned a mythology. Rules and codes developed, seemingly arcane in their source, unwritten, but loudly voiced:
"YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT!"
And it's true. I wasn't. My elation at discovering a neat glitch on the expansive Wario Stadium track quickly turned into disappointment as my less nimble-thumbed friends informed me that, as long as they couldn't use a shortcut, I wouldn't be able to.

GoldenEye 007. Spending frankly terrifying amounts of time in the split-screen mode drove us to forge a new set of commandments; chief among these was the "No Oddjobs" rule.
Oddjob, bowler-hat chucking henchman in the classic Goldfinger, is criminally short in comparison with Goldeneye's other playable characters. Shots that would otherwise slam into the face of a normal sized adversary will happily sail over his primitively shaped head.

"Okay."
...
"Wtf?"
"Oh, I have to hurt you first. It's the rules."
"Oh right, just like how the rules state anyone not it can shoot the balls off the opponent with a rocket launcher."
Yeah, it gets a bit annoying.
This translates into online games, too. But the anonymity of the internet allows people to simply ignore any sort of criticism for their "cheating," as opposed to real life where you can set them straight with a good right hook.
DON'T USE EXPLOSIVES THAT'S GAY.
Doesn't stop me from using it though.
He says to me on halo "oh you cant use the sniper" but then he goes and uses what he likes.
He says to my other friend when he's not on his team "oh your not aloud to use missile pod" And then when he IS on his team and I say
"hey I thought he couldent use that" he says
"oh whatever your just making stuff up because im owning you" But the funny thing was that he only had 2 kills and I had 25.
Meh, my brother falls back on that "You're not allowed to do that!" and "You can't do that!" And "Thats not fair!"
Sure, he's younger than me, but it gets annoying, he can't even logically justify just WHY it isn't fair, he just says it isn't....
A sore loser, in other words >_>
Don't shoot me when I cant see you.
Wtf?
