IGN's Top 10 Final Fantasy VII Characters Of All Time

With today's release of Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, IGN have compiled a list of their top 10 favorite heroes and villains from the Final Fantasy VII Compilation.

A lot of things went into making FFVII a breakthrough hit. Technologically, it marked the beginning of a new age in RPGs, with flat old-school sprites giving way to modern 3D worlds. You can't chalk it all up to flashy graphics and cinematics, though. FFVII's cast features a handful of all-time favorites, characters that gamers all over the world fell for.

Everyone, of course, has their personal number one (and two, and three, and probably 10, 11, or 12). Since we all love an old-fashioned argument starter, though, here come our choices for Midgar's top 10.

    Sephiroth is the best FF character out there.

    IGN...wtf?! Vincent's not even in the top ten, and though I'm happy that Cid made it in, that's really messed up. The cool gun-wielding character, very knowledgable and mysterious, with some kick-ass LB's...is only an honorable mention. Way to go.

    Not exactly a A grade list. When you have ten spaces and include all the main party there isn't a lot to pick from

    Tbh, I was hoping they would include more characters from the Compilation. Nobody liked Cait Sith - he shouldn't have even made the list. (especially when a character like Vincent didn't make the list).
    But Hojo, Rufus, or even some of the other ShinRa cronies were alot more memorable (and generally "better") than crappy characters like Cait and Red XIII.

    Im glad Sephiroth got 1st but surely Cid deserves a higher placing than 8th...

    But seriously Vincent, an honourable mention. That just shoots down the whole list!

    Dude zack should have gotten higher i mean dude hes one of the 4 characters that started this whole thing and there is also the fact that you actually see his side of things more in the story since in the original final fantasy 7 cloud acts like zack and has zacks memories. So ya why so low?
