Game Genie Booklets (Old School)

I have recently acquired my old stuff, and during my organization phase I have found a lot of neat stuff that many of you will remember. This blog post in particular includes pictures and discusses my old Game Genie booklets for the NES. How many of you remember these? Let me know!

Lots of more info and pictures at the source.
...Back to the Game Genie and the booklets themselves, it was rare for me to load up an NES game without one of these beside me. As you can see in the pictures above, this book in particular had plenty of codes for a ton of different games. My brother and I would highlight the ones we used most, as shown below. Games in particular include Alien Syndrome, Batman, Battletoads, Dr. Mario, Godzilla, Platoon, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game. I now find it humorous scanning the games that I never played until I was much older. This includes titles like Metal Gear, The Legend of Zelda, Joust, and Paper Boy (the last three thanks to the Wii and 360). If only I knew about them then…

Lots of more info and pictures at the source. Comment at the site if you remember these!

The Game Genie brought me back to playing games that I thought I played to death, like Mega Man X and Super Mario World, trying out the 'cheats' was a blast, heh. I still have some Game Genie books in storage, including some gaming magazines that used to carry Game Genie codes.

I actually found a few Game Genie books in my parent's house about a month ago. I even found my Genesis Game Genie. Man I miss old gaming.

I remember using it on A Link To The Past. It made my heart spin non-stop. I think it actually made me invulnerable but the incessant spinning pissed me off.

I still remember all the Game Genie codes I used in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II for the NES. And I remember the "Bloink" noise it made when you entered a number... And the weird way it all looked with the Game Game + game combo...
