Rumour has it that sometime between April 18th-April 20th (NYC's Comic-Con), John Woo will officially announce a Metroid film. He's had rights to make the film for some four years now...add a poster roaming around the Internet and we've got some possibilities.

The date, however, doesn't check out with this rather bland poster, May 2nd, 2009 being a Saturday (films don't usually come out on a Saturday), but that's likely to change if this is true. Only time will tell.

Director of such films like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Windtalkers, and Mission: Impossible 2, John Woo is world renowned for his deliverance of top notch action and slow motion cut scenes.

Supposedly, John Woo is to announce a new Metroid film at Comic Con this year. One image has been popping up over the Internet featuring Samus' helmet and the date, May 2, 2009. John Woo bought the rights to make a Metroid film back in 2004, but no other announcements have been made since.

Yeah I had the same reaction when I checked out that article, StarJet. Which reminds me, get those signatures rolling for his 'resignation' folks!

as long as Ridley doesn't talk, Mother Brain has no face (a single eye is acceptable) and Kraid is in the movie this could be good, hopefully they won't use too many original characters, any guesses for what the plot is? Maybe it'll include flashbacks to Samus' past, if this movie is a hit (you never know!) they better not make a sequal, sequals spoil these movies 95% of the time!

I'll probably hate the actors in it. I'll probably be picky about the differences between the movie and the game. I'd probably like it anyway...
