The Playstation 3 & XBOX360 have just been been out for a a year (or two), and it can't be denied that Sony & Microsoft must be thinking about the next version even if it is a couple years away (or in some cases, maybe even a decade away).
So what are the dangers for the future-gen console when they eventually come out? Well GamePlayer took a look at just that, giving us a look at where the consoles need to head in comparison to where the PC is heading.
What makes a games machine?
Its a simple enough question, but the answer is something that has long eluded consensus. For some, a games machine is something made by Nintendo, or something with PlayStation or Xbox written on the packaging. For others, its all about the amount of RAM, and the speed of the CPU, and the number of GPU cores theyve managed to shoe-horn into their LED-encrusted black-and-silver beauty.

It is not so much that more features = bad, so much as more features = more chances of the software/hardware bugging out.
Hence the last bit of the article about things not working >_>
Aye, it seems that, with the way things are going, PCs and Consoles will more or less become one and the same, at some point.
HDDs should be standard though, as well as CPUs, at least...GPUs too.... It allows for both standardized dev platform, and everyone being able to DL content.....Ram upgrades might be good. Not too pricey either....
