Eurogamer matches the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of Grand Theft Auto IV. They compare the quality of the graphics, the controls, and other aspects between the two consoles.

The biggest game of the year deserves the most in-depth face-off piece yet produced by anyone, anywhere, so we've massively upgraded the scope of our coverage and the amount of 'assets' you can view. There's still the same 720p and 1080p 24-bit RGB screengrabs taken from both versions of the game of course, this time using the new Digital Foundry TrueHD capture station, so why not take a look with the first of our galleries, featuring general gameplay shots?

Comparison videos appear to be all the rage, even though they're mostly low-res blur-a-thons that demonstrate absolutely nothing, so we decided to take a different approach. Our vids are encoded in supreme quality h264, but more than that, we've zoomed in on the action so you can actually see the difference. Unless otherwise stated, one pixel in the Eurogamer player corresponds to one pixel on your HDTV. Most of the clips are run at 50 percent speed too, again making the job of comparison that much easier, with more bandwidth dedicated to picture quality.

I like to sum up the article over all here; Technically speaking the 360 version of GTA4 Is actually Superior to the PS3 version.
Which as we all know shouldn't be a surprise seeming how the PS3 version was in fact a 360 port.

At the end of the day R* and T2 couldn't match the PS3 and 360 to 100% accuracy. So the "PS3 has the technical edge from installation" was a bunch of BS according to the article.

So with that i can say this "The PS3 version sucks.....slightly. And the 360 version is superior".
And this is without the DLC. So PS3 fanboys thumb me down....seriously go ahead. Again this is Hardware Technically Speaking, and it comes from the article. Shocking isn't...

      to quote you wrong here

      quote
As it is then, it comes down to personal preference, and in my view, Xbox 360 just 'edges' it
its barely better, not to go as far a superior, a slight dip in graphical quality and DLC head start for less pop-in and shorter load times, it evens it out (even that, the graphics are only slightly blurred, its hard to notice, even side by side)

and in fact, its not a port, the game was created for both systems from the get go

Again im taking this right from the article.
Also why does he stated the PS3 version is a port?
Ameer i have in fact saw the screens and Videos and the 360 version does look alot better actually. Well from the videos anyway.

Also i said Hardware Speaking the 360 version runs better.

Again all i posted what was on the article, thats it.
I already said 360 version is better cause of the DLC a week before this game released.

As for the sucks slightly that was a joke. It wasn't mean to be an actual word.

Also don't you find it ironic how i stated this when i have the PS3 version? Seriously i would have thought the red lights would go off saying "oh he's joking". Oh well i guess my sarcasm is hard to detect.

You're being thumbed down for your lack of comprehension and introduction of irrelevant points. DLC doesn't matter. Neither is a port of the other. 'Sucks slightly' is not even a proper sentence. And it seems you haven't even looked at the screenshots, which show hardly any real differences.

DLC does matter. I have a PS3 and a 360. I went for the 360 version because of DLC more than anything else.

That said, I'll probably get the PS3 version eventually.

I agree with you about the fact there is no difference in the screenshots - none I can see anyway.

DLC doesn't matter in relation to graphical quality. You guys don't comprehend simple comments.

Unless I'm mistaken you said "DLC doesn't matter". Not "DLC doesn't matter in relation to graphical quality".

          OR maybe I'm missing something..?

I couldn't care less about graphics, draw distance or frame rate.

The 360 has DLC so I bought that version.

That's the same mind set that I had, ljp. Got a PS3 and 360, but the deciding factor isn't graphics, it's what can keep me entertained longer, like with the DLC.

I really can't spot the differences in both of them. they're both good so that's all that matters tbh ):

Well ye, Ps3 will end up being better graphically but I believe that it will be larger for Xbox, considering it is a generally more popular system.

I'm sick of these comparisons. Is it really that important? No, it isn't.
