What makes GTA IV such a fantastic game are the little things that mean a whole lot to gamers. In previous GTA installments, it was hard to pick out those tiny things, but in GTAIV, there are many. Gamesradar.com has picked 100 little things about GTA IV that make the game special.

Even though GTA the quatro has only been out a few weeks, you’d think we would’ve seen it all by now. But that kind of thinking is foolish! Like you, we’re discovering astounding new details every day, and we’re not talking major features like the new aiming system or the wacky shit the colorful locals have to say. We’re focusing on all the small touches that go into making Niko and Liberty City feel well-rounded and three dimensional. And while some of these things aren’t “new” per se to gaming, here are a bunch of things you may or may not have noticed during your jaunt through LC. Enjoy.

Read that list, and it's pretty true. You do notice some of the little things at times, like Niko and his passengers' heads swaying when you weave through traffic. And I never thought I'd be so quick with a virtual cell phone as I am with my real one.

Good find, that list warms my gamer-heart.

Yeah, some nice stuff. I thought the backfiring was pretty nice myself. The ringing thing is a nice effect too, you also have problems hearing (your character does) for a short while, until the ringing is gone....I like being able to call for emergency services myself, though I rarely use it. I thought the Dead Driver's head hitting the wheel was pretty cool (along with sometimes their foot falling on the gas too)....

I like shredding all 4 tires (either shoot all for, or do donuts until the back ones blow up, and shoot the other two). You actually can go pretty fast (dare I say, your acceleration and top speed are improved?), it is just your ability to turn is compromised a fair bit....

Though it doesn't detract from the point, SA also had cars that fit their neighborhood...

My main issue with this game, is there are similarly 'little things' (glitches and such) that also annoy you/me....

Amazing list. It's really the little things that make this game what it is.

Yep, that list is pretty accurate. All the reasons why I love this game, heads jolting forwards whilst breaking hard, etc etc.

I agree with the majority here ... amazing list.

I love how all the news in the game is connected in some way. After you kill someone in a mission, you'll hear the news report on the radio, then you'll read it on the internet, etc.

I wouldn't consider the graphics a "little thing".

Its more of a "major thing".

The little things give GTA away? Heh, almost every GTA game had "little" things. Easter eggs, hello? You there?
GTA - Little Things =/= GTA

Hahahaha awesome list! And so true. It's always been the little things that add up to make GTA a great experience and it's no different this time out.

I miss Love Fist. It was annoying driving them around in the limo in Vice City, but jeez, they were a part of the game.
