Well if you didn't feel like reserving the game in the hopes that the demo will be released on PSN. While that is true, it turns out that you would have to wait untill the game is released before it comes out on the store. So if you really cannot wait to play the demo so you can get a feel of the game, head on over to your local gamestop and pre-order it.

Last week, GameStop revealed that gamers who pre-ordered Killzone 2 would get "exclusive" access to the game's demo. We contacted SCEA to see just how exclusive that deal is, and as it turns out, the answer is very. Our rep told us, "The demo will be available on the PSN after the game ships but only through GameStop until then." You heard the man, folks. If you're interested in checking out the game before its February 27 release and didn't get into the beta, it's gonna cost you one (1) Abraham Lincoln.

LMFAO this is such a silly tactic, but I'm sure it works. Not for me though, I've bought too many bum PS3 titles at full cost this last year that I am being forced to be more cautious.

Not the best tactic but i am sure they have access to far more information than we do. Pre-orders must be high for them to do this, i mean if they already know it is going to sell well then a post release demo will convert those that didn't buy.

Is this also the case for UK Gamestop pre-orders?

And Canada has no Gamestop. Way to exclude a country. Why would they release the demo on PSN AFTER release? That makes no sense.

Actually, that isn't true. We DO have Gamestops...

But they aren't common....And at least the one I have kinda sucks (feels more like a mom and pop hobby/rental shop, than a game store like EB). Has stuff (cosplay, resales of cards, etc) EB doesn't though.

Well I won't be trying the demo as I buy the majority of my games on the release day.

This kinda thing is just lame. Sony is doing the same with Resistance : Retribution, giving the demo to Amazon. Thanks to CFW, I can actually get the demo without preordering from Amazon.

Damn. This is *bleep*ing bs. A lot of stores have started doing this prebooking= Bonus schemes, the scumbags.

Well, without these 'bonus schemes' preordering is essentially pointless.

Pre-ordering is not pointless really, it guarentees you a copy, maybe you have to go out somewhere, or didn't have enough money for it the day you was going to get it, then the copies may have been sold out.

When you're in a small town like mine, pre-ordering is pointless. I won't pre-order when I don't have to so I can get a demo.

Besides, they should just release it on PSN pre-release; people were pre-ordering KZ2 before this deal, what would've stopped them from continuing?

Depends.I live in a rather small town where limited editions are pretty much only available if you pre-order.

Lol, the Limited and Special editions of MGS4 were almost in larger abundance than the standard version where I live.
