Hot off the press from the Microsoft keynote speech at CES, Steve Ballmer has announced that the release date of the Halo Wars demo is February 5th. For those of you not in the know, Halo Wars is an upcoming RTS in the Halo game-universe. It will feature all sorts of familiar units and equipment as well as allow players to see early Human-Covenant battles.

Just a few minutes ago Steve Ballmer, while giving the Microsoft keynote at CES in Las Vegas, said that the demo for Ensemble Studios' Halo Wars would hit the Xbox LIVE Marketplace on February 5th, 2009. The full game doesn't hit retail until February 28th, but that should give us all a bit of time to drool in anticipation.
