Man there has been some weird stuff going with the Killzone 2 demo. First exclusive only Gametsop, then coming a day before launch and now a whole new schedule. But in the end, everyone wins. Killzone 2 was scheduled this Thursday to come out only for people who pre-ordered, well now you can play the demo without a pre-order.

UPDATE:

According to ThreeSpeech.com, our friends across the pond aren't the only lucky gamers expecting a demo of Killzone 2 this week, with North America also receiving the demo this Thursday.

The demo, based on the first level named Corinth River, is split into two parts. The first takes you through "Beach Landing" (Helghan's Normandy?) and the second is the "Warehouse." You can also expect the tutorial to help you through each section, as we're sure the gamers who weren't lucky enough to beta the game shall need it.

You can check out what we thought in our full single-player review of Killzone 2 here.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has announced that a demo of Killzone 2 will be made available for download on February 5, 2009.

You could have just made a European account anyway, but I'm pretty sure the demo is still scheduled for the 26th in the US if you don't have it reserved at gamestop.

Will it! should have a question mark. And no it wouldn't be worth it, Killzone 2 will be there when friend's won't.

HAHAHA, but friends will be there when the electricity is out due to a freak accident and KZ2 is snug as a bug in a rug inside your PS3, and won't come out till the power is back on!

Very true, but those same friends might not be there when the power's out either, they might be out partying without you while you're all alone, at least KZ2 doesn't leave you hanging and sticks around until the power's back on.

Haha, that's why you need friends that will like to involve you in their fun

          KZ2 meanwhile . . . Umm . . . well . . . I got nothing.

But what if those friends don't want to play KZ2 with you? Then you're home alone while they go party and thats when the power shuts off. You can always carry your KZ2 disc with you, your friends can't always be there.

I have to go on a planning retreat on the 27th. If it wasn't required, I would totally ditch out for this game.

Man, sometimes I wish so bad I was into the same games that everyone else was into. Then I could actually enjoy all this hype certain games are getting and maybe understand it all

Ah well, KZ2 isn't my type of game, sorry. Hope it's a good game though.

Hunskelper, unless I missed it somewhere, it doesn't specifically say that the demo will be in the US store on Thursday. It just says the demo will also be available in the US, but the Gamestop pre-order code was always scheduled to be activated on Thursday the 5th.

That's exactly my point. The Gamestop code was always scheduled for Thursday, the 5th. Does it say that the demo will be available to everyone in the US on Thursday?

Aah. I read the Kotaku article before they edited it. They said it wasn't the Gamestop exclusive demo originally.

from the way the article is written, it sounds like it will be for download for everyone.

I'm glad. This shows us that they're confident in the game enough to allow people to try it first, which is good. Who knows, maybe it'll get me interested in it.

I guess I have a reason to turn my PS3 on now... not looking like I will get this but the demo could convince me other wise.

Anyone else notice the PSN hasn't uploaded it yet? Although I did put my Gamestop code in and am currently downloading the demo .
