Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops for the Playstation Portable has an offline multiplayer demo now available for Europe in light of the May 25 release date.

Like a crack dealer dangling his wares at the playground gates, Konami has revealed it's offering PlayStation Portable fans a tantilising whiff of its latest Metal Gear Solid title, Portable Ops, in demo form.

Already available for download via Sony's Your PSP website, the demo dishes out a teaspoon's worth of the full game's offline multiplayer mode. It's a one-map Deathmatch demo, where up to six players can rack up the points with judicious annihilation of their pals.

Just in case the concept of multiplayer deathmatches are utterly alien to you, Konami provides this useful guide to clambering up the ranks: "The winner is the player with the most hits within the time limit, with double points awarded to the victor in the following round. However, player's toppling the current leader are awarded with triple points". So now you know.

Anyway, if you're still straddling Snake with indecision, check out the demo - it's just like the real thing, only smaller!

Uhh...it's PO for the PSP. I already had a hard time with Online multiplayer in Portable Ops (damn headshooters), offline multiplayer's not exactly my cup 'o tea since I don't know anyone else that has a PSP, or PO in that case.
