Altough David Cage stated that it was doubtful a Heavy Rain demo would be released, Quantic Dream’s co-CEO, Guillaume de Fondaumiere, says otherwise:

"I think we’ve quite a number of ideal scenes to choose from, but the difficulty is just actually choosing the scene. But we will have a playable demo."

Quantic Dream is currently aiming to release a demo in early 2010.

Don't play it more than once though; it'll ruin the magic of the demo

Don't think i'll play this demo. I trust in the final game being good without a demo to tempt me.

I don't know, something tells me the demo will be bad. I think the game will be great, but the demo? I think it'll turn more people AWAY from the game than toward!

I agree. I think they would have more success having a dreamscene like tutorial like they had in Fahreinheit/Indigo Prophecy. Where David Cage himself was talking the player through the controls and what his intention was with this project. I believe that would work much more especially without patronising he lets them know that the controls will take some getting used to and all that. That would get people into the game far more than just dropping them into a scene part way through a storyline they won't understand.
