The following story is not a commentary on the game itslef, but more about how a PR rep's terrible mishandling of a game demo can reflect negatively on a title's potential. A reporter who was exsitiingly waiting to play LittleBigPlanet gets mistreated by a PR rep.

Unfortunately, before I had even settled into my seat, a Sony rep walked up and said, "Alex, we really need you to do interviews now."

"Oh, ok. Should I shut this game down?" Alex replied.

My heart momentarily sank but my hope rose again when the Sony rep said, "No, we've got somebody else coming to demo it."

Okay, even with someone else running the demo, I figured I'd still have a good time. My eyes drew back to the screen in front of me. My fellow editor had created a sticker the size of a jumbo jet, causing the graphical prowess of the PS3 to be pushed beyond its limits. Heavy clipping occurred and many items onscreen began to disappear. Normally, this would be disheartening but in LittleBigPlanet, this sort of thing seemed like it was just par for the course. Of course, I wanted to join in on the fun and was just about to start wrecking creative havoc when the demo began its trek down the slippery road to Hell.

"Are you guys trying to break my game," a voice said from behind us. We turned and saw that the rep who was going to take over for Alex Evans had arrived. He seemed annoyed by the "damage" we had done to his game. "Now, I'll have to reset the whole PlayStation."

"You must learn to walk before you can run, and run before you can sprint"!

I'm sure the final product will still be great though, especially since there won't be a game representative imparting such words of wisdom every few minutes!

Bit unusual, it's still not clear what exactly happened but it doesn't sound great.

Better to highlight the problems sooner rather than later though.

    Lol at breaking the game.

I read this article yesterday and my reaction was just "wow.." I'm surprised the guy put up with the rep for so long. I would of gone monkeys and told him off.

If I was the player I would just get in the reps sack dude so he can't go any further in the game to piss him off.

That's pretty *bleep*ing funny, and before any of you start knocking Little Big Planet you've got to realize what they're allowing you to do here, create your own game content without any real limits.

Even the big developers have limits, even Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid 4, Oblivion, all your favorite games have limits, and all of those games have been tweaked for months on end, downgrading visuals and upgrading them sometimes to, in order to find that perfect sweet spot.

Wow, I don't think I would have been able to tolerate a demo-er like that. What a punk.

What's his business complaining about it though? It's a personal experience between him and some other dude.
why publically announce your beef with someone as a professional Gamepro staffer? It wasn't about you vs. Sony or the game... It's just you and a bad exp. with some punk...
Keep it to your blog man.

    Pretty sucky experience -_-

Guy probably was just a regular Sony rep, on a power trip..."MY GAME, YOU NO TOUCH!"

Well, I'm sure when we get to play the actual game, it will be a LOT more fun then that guy's experience -_-
