The Ugly Truth About E3
"You can keep E3 and you can keep LA, I won't be going back to either one anytime soon. Hopefully, the rest of the industry will follow my lead. Now, if you move the show to Vegas and bring back the booth babes then I'll book my flight right now. At least if the show floor sucks I can go blow my life savings on Keno!"

IGN interviews Cammie Dunaway
IGN sat down with Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's Executive Vice President of sales and marketing, who is also the annoying lady that spoke at the E3 2008 Press Conference, and she answered questions about why Nintendo seemed to focus on casual games at E3, why they didn't show off more hardcore games at E3, and if Nintendo will be at the Tokyo Game Show, as well as other shows. Halo news just too great for the E3 stage?
"In a recent interview, Microsoft’s Senior Vice President of Interactive Entertainment, Don Mattrick, responded to Bungie’s public disagreement with the company’s decision to put off their E3 Halo announcement. Mattrick was quoted saying:
“One of the things that we decided, when you have the number one game in the world as we have in Halo, it’s a safe prediction that if we do a separate event for Halo, that it’ll be well-attended, well covered …”"

Nintendo of America IS publishing Fatal Frame IV ... so why don't they know about it?
A few days ago it was revealed that Nintendo of America have no idea what Fatal Frame IV is, despite the game being released on Wii in Japan soon.
So perhaps the game won't be published by Nintendo in America? It seems Tecmo feels otherwise... Tecmo told fans to direct all questions regarding FFIV (and it's absence from E3) to Nintendo of America. That might be a little hard though, if NoA reps don't know what the game even is!

E3 May Return in '09
"Reports have surfaced online that a representative from the Entertainment Software Association has commented that E3 will have at least one more showing next year, though no solid details have been given. We contacted the ESA to confirm these details but a representative was not available. Instead, we contacted the Los Angeles Convention Center and spoke with a booking agent to see what sort of events were taking place next year in July. At the time this article was written, the ESA has not y..."

E3 Going Public in 2009?
"The only thing there was more of at E3 than games were complaints about E3's new, tidy, business-like format. Everyone from company execs to game developers to the working press seemed to have something unhappy to say about the show. Coasting right there along with the complaints was a building buzz that next year's E3 was going to have to undergo some mammoth changes. Just how mammoth? According to a number of well connected sources I spoke with during the show, there's considerable thought ..."

Why the Leipzig Game Show might be better than E3 2008 ...
"E3 2008 was on the whole a rather lame affair. A lot of what was shown was great of course, but given the number of brilliant-looking games currently teetering perilously close to release, we got a miserable amount of content in terms of new unveilings. You've no doubt by now read a lot of articles questioning the future relevence of the show, and those articles have a good point, but we want to take a more positive angle on the whole situation.
You see, there is a great big hope on the ho..."

Iwata: Sorry About E3, "Big Titles" On the Way
It's no secret that most of the internet was disappointed with Nintendo's E3 Media Briefing. In a talk with business newssite Forbes, Iwata openly apologizes to the core gamer expecting him to drop the bomb at E3, and reaffirms that Nintendo is not ignoring core gamers. He notes that the big titles need a long time to develop, and at their present state were not ready to be shown at last week's media briefing.

PS3 80 GB - What Do You Lose?
"Among the many news items in today's E3 2008 Sony Press Conference was the announcement that it will be introducing a new $399 80GB PlayStation 3. On stage, Sony Computer Entertainment America President Jack Tretton was upbeat about the console, saying it offered "twice the storage for the same price."
While such a proposition was attractive, Tretton also raised some questions by saying the console will have "the same functionalities" as the 40GB. That model has been the subject of critic..."

Things We Never Want To See Again At E3
E3 is now over, many are happy, many a sad, and many are just confused as to why certain people came/items were on display. Kotaku have however, decided to list the things that they don't ever want to see at another E3, and I must say I do agree with (some of) them. In short they are:
- Nintendo (yes the entire company)
- Talky-Talky
- Duffy
- Tell Us, Damnit
- Navel-Gazing
- Killzone 2
- Over-Excitment
- Posts about stuff we never want to see at E3 again

Nintendo have never heard of Fatal Frame IV ... Even though they're publishing it!
Fatal Frame IV's Japanese release is just two weeks away, so one would asume that the game will be released in America sometimes at the end of the year.
Well it looks like that might not be the case...
During E3, GoNintendo.com asked Nintendo of America about Fatal Frame IV ... and they hadn't even heard of the game!
Yes, despite Nintendo being the publishers of the game (and despite a trailer being released at E3), not one person in Nintendo's E3 meeting room had a clue what series GoNi...

Have the casual games gone a little bit too far?
According to the article, the casual games are going a little too far. Nintendo always has a fun, casual game to play. There's Nintendogs, Brain Age games, Wii Sports, and tons of others! After awhile, E3 2008 bestows its greatness upon us and what games do we get? Another Wii Sports game and a music game without an air guitar. Do you agree with the article, have the casual games gone too far?

Announcement of WiiMotionPlus took devs by surprise
Announced during E3 2008, WiiMotionPlus allows you to have more control in a game; any move you make with your hand will affect the game.
Game Informer recently interviewed third-party devs about the WiiMotionPlus; they feel annoyed and betrayed by the device. None of them knew about it until E3, along with everyone else; as a result no games will be able to support it for six to nine months.
Your first chance to snag this control-enhancing device will be in a bundle. The bundle will c...

The E3 Wii breakdown
Now that all the hullabaloo of E3 is over, Disco Stu gives a sober appraisal of what Nintendo offered at LA last week. What does the new voice option for the Wii really mean? Can we expect 3rd party studios to finally implement some decent controls with the new Wii motion attachment? And what of those Zelda Wii rumours?...

E3 2008 Awards -- GamesRadar
"Another year, another grueling E3 experience for all involved. As press, we have to be in constant motion, reading, writing and presenting all the information that's blasted at our eyes and ears. As readers, you're tasked with digesting an ocean of content in 72 constantly updated hours. It's a hell of a ride and we're glad to be at the end, especially given the rather dismal nature of this year's show."
