Yesterday I managed to get an interview from Athene. If you don't know who he is and you are a regular visitor of YouTube, you must have been living under a rock for the past month or maybe you just don't care. Either way you might like some of his videos, especially if you are a WoW player and you appreciate this kind of humour.
General Information - Athene is a paladin on Emeriss, but not just any paladin. His 5v5 team has dominated the realm for quite some time now being number one in the arena ladders. However this is not how Athene became popular. Over the course of one month he published a lot of clips on YouTube, with what some would define as "explicit content", which was not exactly the case. In fact there is nothing explicit in his videos and come to think of it, they are much more original and entertaining than a lot of the content that some users produce on YouTube. Athene and his friends are also working on an interactive movie project called IP where people decide what happens next. Everything mentioned in this article has been referenced at the end for your viewing pleasure. This interview was done through MSN and I've left it as it is, unedited.
Interviewer: Hello and thanks for taking the time to give this interview.
Athene: Hello back, pleasure is all mine
Interviewer: Now I’m sure a lot of people wonder – how did you decide to come back? In your latest video and your post on the movielol forums you are saying that people who supported your statement on net neutrality finally did it, YouTube was forced to treat their users equally. Did they actually change their policy?
Athene: Yup, they actually did, and its not only some peptalk, some big partners got suspended and even said when there accounts got reinstated that there policy towards partners has been changed. If you chech the frontpage of youtube you will see no fake thumbnails while before it was full. Аnd also sexy explicit content gets removed so i guess youtube made a step in the right direction treating there users equally.
Interviewer: Good, this actually means people have the power to make a difference on YouTube. All we need to do is stand up and voice our opinion. Just like you did.
Athene: Aye the internets has actually all power over the internet as long they act when they freedom gets treatened.
Interviewer: What was your childhood like? Anything interesting you want to share?
