Publisher Sega reveals the sales results for two of their high-profile recent releases, Alpha Protocol and Iron Man 2, in their latest quarterly fiscal report.

"There isn't a great number of deals this week but there are some smoking hot deals available for NCAA Football 11 and Dragon Quest IX. K-Mart in particular has some great deals on the two new releases and a deep deep discount on Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker, Alan Wake, and Singularity. Target is also offering a great discount on other EA games with the NCAA Football 11 and Toys R Us is offering gift cards with Dragon Quest IX and the DSi XL."

Due to lack of high sales and mixed reviews, Sega President has officially announced that they will not be publishing a sequel to Alpha Protocol in the future.

During E3, Sega confirmed that Alpha Protocol will in fact be receiving a patch. While talking about potential DLC for the game, Obsidian responded by saying it doesn't look likely.

"The craziness of the past two weeks has kind of slowed down for this week's game releases with only one game that may be classified as major, Alpha Protocol, and a bunch of b-listers including a new game after Madden's crown."

SEGA confirms the DRM for Alpha Protocol, and it's actually quite reasonable for once.

No permanent online connection required, potentially infinite installs, plus they're going to patch it out completely at some point anyway. They even throw in a sly dig at Ubisoft to boot.

Obsidian and SEGA's anticipated RPG "Alpha Protocol" has gone gold according to the publisher. The title is currently on it's way to manufacturing for release on May 28th and June 1st, in Europe and North America respectively.

Obsidian has history developing some very good RPGs. Their latest is Alpha Protocol, an "espionage" RPG. There is very little known about the title at this time, but Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart commented, “Alpha Protocol blends Obsidian’s knack for intricate stories, engrossing characters, and significant character advancement with fast-paced modern combat..." And if Feargus likes it, that is good enough for me!
