"“In the distant future there exists a secret society that uses a device to relive the memories of their medieval ancestors and unravel the mysteries of a hidden war between the Knights Templar and the Secret Order of Assassins.” The whole concept behind the Assassin’s Creed games sounds like something fished out of Dan Brown’s garbage can while he was working on The Da Vinci Code."
"Today marks the release of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, the final tale of Ezio and Altair. It finalises the groundwork for Desmond’s last stand against Abstergo and the Templars in 2012′s Assassin’s Creed 3.
With four major console games released, several smartphone iterations, as well as DS and PSP offshoots, its a very good time to recap the essentials of the Assassin’s Creed story.
Enjoy Ubisoft‘s latest video as you ready yourself to play Revelations, and see if you can guess whe..."
"I’ll grant that I may be in the minority in preferring the original game to any of its sequels. And I certainly enjoyed my time with the other games. But I’m beginning to notice a lack of focus that’s been problematic for each sequel.
Focus isn’t often mentioned when we talk about why games work or not. When it comes to this genre, it’s not an easy term to define. But if you’ve played Shadow of the Colossus, then you have an example of focus used to great effect."
After a spat of DRM drama for a legitimate owner of Batman Arkham Asylum (namely, me), I felt a rant about the pitfalls of DRM done wrong was necessary. There are companies that do it well, and companies that don't. I explore examples of both in this rant.
The Assassin’s Creed Universe doesn’t just include the games that have been released on various consoles. The universe expands into comics, novels and even movies. Follow the timeline of the AC World in this video released by Ubisoft. Maybe it can entice you to branch out into other mediums?
GetGamesGo.com somehow managed to get Ubisoft to let them sell some games at, up to, 75% off; awesome guys. Many of these games are some well known titles from the Developer/Publisher.
Founder of Playr2.com conducted a study that asked over 1,500+ participants how long it took for them to beat various games like COD: Black Ops, Resident Evil 5, and others. DLC and multiplayer were not taken into account. Here are the results:
Game locations are everything, they add depth, color, and tension to games, so I decided to go over a few of my favorite landscapes from the past years. Two rules apply, 1. Only one selection per series, and 2. they're from current gen systems. What are yours?
"Ubisoft is having a blowout sale on PC download versions of games until this Tuesday, the 27th, on their site. The game sale is highlighted by a fantastic deal on the Assassin’s Creed digital bundle which is listed at 66% off. There are also deals on Far Cry 2, Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. Check out the specifics on the sale below."
That's right, news has just broke that Game Informer has now uncovered that in the next Assassin's Creed game you will be playing as Ezio, Altair AND Desmond all with arching story lines. Now this may not be the news everyone wants to hear, as most people are looking for Assassin's Creed 3, but the concept of this new game sounds quite interesting.

"Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is a perfect example of a great game getting better. After the dismal Assassin’s Creed original, Assassin’s Creed 2 stepped up to the plate and knocked one out of the park. So great was the success of Assassin’s Creed 2 that many were surprised by the announcement of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, a move many felt would make for a weaker gamer."
Ubisoft head of marketing Geoffrey Sardin has revealed that there are plans for another Assassin's Creed game for 2011, more details have yet to be forthcoming. He said ""If you compare [the 1m in a week] with last year's Assassin’s Creed II sales, this is a big jump - so it's a great achievement," he explained. "It's the best launch in the history of Ubisoft's European sales, and our best-selling launch title ever."
It also turns out that Assassin's Creed Brotherhood sold over 1 million c...
"Do games imitate life, or is it the other way around? The parkour antics and stealth-based gameplay of the Assassin’s Creed series has left many wanting to imitate those stunts in real life, but unfortunately real life has stopped many from imitating Altair and Ezio. That’s not to say a select few haven’t tried to pull it off."
"Some games you just have to get on the day they're out. You just do. That said, a few games may be on your radar, but you feel you can wait for them a bit longer. You'll probably still buy them brand new, just for the feeling of having something that no-one else has had before. Now I've said it before and I'll say it again - gaming is not a cheap hobby. This is why pre-owned games are a fantastic way to make your money go further. You're getting the same game you would of purchased brand new ..."

"We’ve all read countless “best franchise of all time” lists, and while they’re fun to write and then to argue about, there’s an inherent problem with the “all time” part – you have to consider the 30+ years of gaming history before you get to the modern generation. Heavy hitters like Zelda, Mario, Halo, Warcraft, Metal Gear and GTA are virtually guaranteed a place on the list, so how can there be much room left over for games of right now?
That’s why we’re ousting the old guard and choosin..."
Many creative gamers are taking every opportunity they can get in order to improve their artistic abilities in hopes of some day working in the gaming industry. Raphael Lacoste, who has worked with Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia, has just released an accessible online tutorial showcasing some of his methods for creating such breathtaking works of art.
Over 1.54 million votes were casted over a span of 200 days, and between 4000 titles, the winners of the Golden Joystick Awards have finally been announced.
"If Ezio is continually referred to as a womanizer, why don't we see more womanizing in the game? Sure, characters may hint at it, but we need to see this acted out. In fact, with all those courtesans around in all the towns, why can't Ezio get distracted occasionally? And maybe jump into a nearby house to take care of business?"
"There’s nothing worse for an achievement or trophy whore than when a game decides it’s a good idea to have some ridiculous type of collectible within the game as an achievement. You know the type; those ridiculous pieces of paraphernalia that mean absolutely nothing to gameplay, storyline, or character development."
"This week's deals are kind of overwhelming thanks to GameStop's Power Saver sales and Toys R Us running a buy one get one 50% off sale. There is a lot to choose from to spend your gaming dollar on but the good news is is that you'll be able to stretch it pretty far."
"If you have played and completed Assassin's Creed II but haven't tried any of the add-ons, this week is a good week to start as they are on sale as part of the Xbox LIVE Deal of the Week along with some Avatar gear."
"When it comes to high-end video game collectibles most of us will purchase anything, especially if it’s for a franchise we love. Well if you’re a fan of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series then get ready to lay down the big bucks as figure manufacturer Hot Toys has announced a figure based on Ezio from Assassin’s Creed 2.
Like Hot Toys other products such as the amazing Batman DX, the Ezio figure stands at 12 inches and boats an incredible amount of detail. From his iconic hood and hidden ..."
The Japanese branch has revealed the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 box arts for Assassin’s Creed II Special Edition, which will be released this August in Japan.
"Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Many people have a specific game reason when purchasing a console. You might have purchased a Super Nintendo because of Super Mario World or a Nintendo 64 because of Goldeneye 007. Many people finally went out and purchased a Playstation 3 because of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. This explosive PS3 exclusive game was one of the most positively received games of this generation and still ranks on many lists as one of the greatest games of all time."
"A new version of Assassin’s Creed II has been announced for release in June. The “Complete Edition” is the full copy of the original game along with the two expansion packs released earlier this year: The Battle of Forli and Bonfire of the Vanities. The Complete Edition also comes with more exclusive content, previously exclusive to the Black Edition."
"Red Dead Redemption wannabe owners should keep an eye out on their local Toys R Us this Tuesday as they will have a $25 Gift Card available with purchase of the game. Apparently Dr. Warren Vidic doesn't spend all of his time overseeing Abstergo's Animus project, no. It seems the good doctor also enjoys updating his Facebook status.
A post featuring a cryptic message attributed to the doctor himself went live earlier today, on the official Assassin's Creed Facebook page.
"It is the time of our rising. A new age enters and a great battle looms. Templar destiny is at hand and waiting for you."

"Last night, the GAME British Academy Video Games Awards ceremony took place in London, with a number of shocking results. While few would argue that Batman: Arkham Asylum found itself up against some tough competition for the coveted Game of the Year award, the fact that Rocksteady Studios walked away with the award will certainly be a boon to UK videogame development. However, another winner is now going to be a benefit to the UK’s gaming public, as the UK’s largest high street videogames re..."
This week only Best Buy and BestBuy.com put on sale Assassins Creed 2 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 for $29.99. That's the best discount ever available for the game that's still selling extremely well and is close to 50% off retail price.
"In the end I’m still stuck at one conclusion, and it’s that both Battle of Forli and Bonfire of the Vanities should have been included in one package. Given how much the two are intertwined (honestly, one is prologue, the other is conclusion), we’re really only inflicted with two DLC releases here because some marketing department thought it would drive more hype."
Many gamers have collections of various items, but some can go to some lengths with their collections.

Ubisoft’s servers went down over the weekend which rendered the PC version of Assassin’s Creed II unplayable. They first blamed the outage on "over whelming demand" but in a tweet today revealed that the servers were under attack.
"Gamers were understandably upset when Ubisoft announced that its upcoming Digital Rights Management (DRM) service required that PC gamers be connected to the internet at all times in order to play games like Assassin’s Creed II. Ubisoft tried to explain how the system works by taking save points and so that gamers will be taken back to their last save point in the case of a connection failure and able to pick up play from there once the connection has been restored. Gamers were still understa..."
David Hilton, OXCGN's dig-deep writer and historian, looks at just where games could go, and where they need to g in order to continue in modern times. Especially with the rising costs associated with buying more and more games as they are released.
Game prices have remained relatively stable over the last decade and a half, but the sheer numbers have made it virtually impossible to buy all the games one would want.
Can we change this?
Should we change this?
Do we really want to?...
"One of the first things I hear from Michael McIntyre, level design director of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, is that it takes place soon after (the awesome) Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Sure, Sands of Time had a proper (though, not nearly as well-received) sequel in Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, but lore-wise, there's a seven-year gap between those two installments -- which provides a convenient place for Forgotten Sands to take place. McIntyre quips, "Obviously, some rea..."

"The shortlist for the BAFTA GAME Award 2009 has been announced and you - the British public - will decide who nabs the prize.
Last year 60,000 gamers voted, with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare crowned the eventual winner. This time around the sequel could repeat the feat, but will face stiff competition from the likes of Batman: Arkham Asylum and FIFA 10."
"Ubisoft has said that assassination multiplayer will be included in the new Assassin’s Creed game.
Ubisoft said in its Q3 investors call today that the game would see Ezio striking the Templars at their headquarters in Rome.
It would also include what Ubi called “innovative” multiplayer, where players can participate in an assassination mode against friends online."
"The term “battle” is a little misleading. While the dev team have obviously tried to instill Forli with an urban battlefield feel, and keep the environment constant by bookending the majority of the missions, it doesn’t really work. Packs of Orsi’s men roam the streets in red, fighting with green-clad supporters of Sforza, but in amongst it are all the city’s usual denizens. Packs of mercenaries loiter around for you to hire, and heralds waffle on to the pitched battle warning them against as..."
"When games reward me, I'm a completionist. I'll max out my characters in an RPG if that's the only way to beat the Platinum Manticore at the top of Victory Hope Tower and earn the all-powerful Whip of Destiny. I'll even make my character hop in place 500 times if that means I unlock some piddling trophy/achievement. But in a game where there's no real reward, where I'm right at the end, my pockets overflow with money, and my stats are all maxed, I'm probably going to be ok with just finishing..."

"...we have Over The Top Games' Roberto Alvarez de Lara on the column this week, one of the main men behind the WiiWare hit. He can be seen giving an insight into the world of independent game development below, while the rest of the column is jam-packed with enough arcade goodness to push your download limit towards bursting point. This week, Assassin's Creed II DLC 'The Battle of Forli is the first to step up to the mark."
"Battle of Forlì is the first of two DLC extensions planned for Assassin's Creed II. It comprises the first of the two "corrupted memories" of the Animus (DNA sequence 12), and sees Niccolò Machiavelli and Caterina Sforza fighting alongside Ezio to protect a piece of Eden from the Orsi brothers and the Templars. Battle of Forlì contains six new missions, in which Ezio will use Da Vinci’s flying machine once again. As the title suggests, this first DLC package takes place in the region of Forlì."
"Though revealing little that hasn’t already been announced, the release of a new schedule will put many at ease. Having official release windows for many of the publishers’ upcoming highlights will certainly allow for those waiting with baited breath to organise their finances accordingly. The full release schedule follows below, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest from Ubisoft."
"A fellow Ubisoft spokesman then added: "The game will take place with the same hero, which is Ezio, and will follow-up the story that took place in Assassin's Creed 2."
Guillemot confirmed the game would be sold at a "full price point"."
""Nothing but love to the people who wrote these games, but in all seriousness, what was the process by which these games were picked? I’m sure that I haven’t been exposed to the intricacies of the vast number of genres of entertainment. I’m sure my bias to the hectic nature of explosions and fallen gun shells beset with the drama of fallen comrades and tragic pasts keep me from enjoying the subtle beauteousness of The Sound of Music and what not. I’m also positive that I know nothing about wh..."

"As 2009 came to a close, we posted a weeklong look at our favorite games of 2009. However, those 40 titles (including the eight we ultimately chose to honor as "The Best of the Best") were far from the only good games released last year. And did our picks match up with the rest of the game industry? But most importantly, what we really wanted to know was which game was truly the best game of 2009."

"When we first started this feature, the differences between some versions of games were astounding. Fight Night Round 3 looked drastically better on the Xbox 360 with its improved lighting and shadowing effects. The following year, the graphics on both platforms got considerably more even--Oblivion even looked better on the PlayStation 3. Every subsequent comparison pretty much ended the same, with the Xbox 360 getting the benefit of slightly higher-resolution textures and other marginal impr..."
"I don’t know about you, but my Xbox has had enough. After only a year on duty, the damned thing growls like the incessant rumble of an aged car engine near the end of its functionality. That is what inspired us to dub this years GOTY ballet for the Xbox 360 "Least Likely to Brick Your Shit." Amazingly my 360 actually got me through playing these great, console killing games without dying on me completely."

"With less than a week to go to Christmas, the race is on for the coveted Christmas Number One in the All Formats Videogame Chart. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the current favourite, having reigned in pole position for the past five weeks. Close on its heels are Assassin's Creed II, Wii Sports Resort and FIFA 10, which have all jockeyed for second place over the past month."
Assassin's Creed II players will remember that the game missed 2 chapters (12 and 13) and instead, progressed right from chapter 11 to chapter 14. The upcoming DLC looks to remedy that- Sequence 12: Battle of Forli and Sequence 13: Bonfire of the Vanities will be available in January and February, for $3.99 and $4.99 respectively. Read on for more details about how they will tie in to the plot in AC2.
"In many ways, AC2 is similar to the previous game, only better. You still play an assassin in a historical setting—Florence, Venice and Rome being the highlights. You still perform acrobatic rooftop free-running and engage in stealth killings and open combat and you're still bent on finding answers to ancient secrets. The difference is, the experience this time is considerably more polished."
Ironically, the list dubbed "Ten Games to Cross off Your Child's Gift List" almost certainly contains at least one game that if on ever member of Neoseeker's list this holiday season.
Now while I'm sure the Times *scoff* has their reasons to dislike this list of mostly shooters and questionable ethical decisions, but that's the main draw (at least for most gamers)

"... you’ll be playing as this Ezio fella. Standard sob story; your family gets knocked off and you are out to settle the score. But revenge doesn’t turn out to be a simple as Ezio might have expected.
Well, you could sum it up that way, but that kind of makes Assassin’s Creed 2 sound like an 80’s cop film, which doesn’t exactly do justice to the awesome writing that’s gone into this series."
"For Assassin’s Creed 2, players could redeem points to unlock a new level, an Altair costume, an extra pouch of throwing knives and a desktop theme. While none of this content is particularly jaw-dropping, Uplay is keeping it off your DLC list, and one would imagine rightly so.
And the complete set will set you back less than you earn by a single playthrough of the game, so if the UPlay system continues to gain supported games then you could eventually be downloading extra content right o..."
"Assassin’s Creed II has been out for over two weeks now. From speaking to numerous gamers, many people are still sitting on the fence unsure of whether Ubisoft Montreal’s sequel is really worth buying after the original was initially flooded with positive reviews until a slightly sour aftertaste sunk in.
This article is for anyone in that position. You can take the lateness of this review as a good thing for several reasons, and find out why Ezio’s adventure is a perfect example of how a s..."
"As anyone who has played Fallout 3 can tell you, war never changes. If there is one question that has been kicked around between gamers on more than one occasion it’s about the items and weapons we see in the video games we play. After all, what could be better than actually getting your hands on the toys we get to watch our favorite video game characters use on a daily basis? The answer of course is having them and there would be few things cooler than having access to a real Lancer, as terr..."
"Whisk yourself away into the streets of Renaissance Italy, meet up with Leonardo da Vinci or perform some rooftop heroics without ever leaving the comfort of LittleBigPlanet. Fresh from the 15th century streets of Florence and canals of Venice comes the hero from Assassin’s Creed II, Ezio Auditore de Firenze who will be offering his costume up for Sackboy’s exclusive use!"
For this weeks review, Ben "Yahtzee" Crowshaw takes a look at Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 2, and gives it a relatively positive review, praising the improvements over the first.
"Ubisoft today announced plans for two downloadable content (DLC) packs for the recently released mega-hit, Assassin's Creed II; the first, titled Battle for Forli, will launch in January, with the second, Bonfire of the Vanities (February)."
Assassin's Creed II has been getting lots of attention, and for good reason. It's waaay better than the first game, so that's a good sign that Ubi gives a crap about its fan base. Ezio has a fancier outfit, more money, friends, and the ability to swim.
That swimming thing alone is enough to make most gamers automatically declare the sequel a success over its predecessor. Anyway, here's the review from Neoseeker.
All Age Gaming's John Elliott takes a look into Ubisoft's new online feature, Uplay. Is Ubisoft's attempt at enhancing the experience of a few of their key games a stroke of genius or just a fickle attempt at getting us to play for more useless game accessories?
After the success of the original, it was inevitable that Ubisoft would release Assassin's Creed 2. After huge sales success following its release, Ian from All Age Gaming takes a look at whether AC2 was worth your hard earned cash.
David Hilton, OXCGN's resident historian, the one who accurately predicted the current location of Assassin's Creed 2, looks at where Assassin's Creed might well venture to in their next iteration.
Ubisoft have already begun work on the following game, so where do you think they will be heading, come check out David's predictions and vote for your time period.
"It’s easy to see that video games make perfect gifts and the best time to shop for those lucky people on your receiving list would be now. With retailers preparing for Black Friday and Cyber Monday as Thanksgiving and Christmas fast approaches, chances are, you’ve already seen some great offers. But let’s not decide on anything just yet. After all, what fun is it to gift-giving if that special gamer doesn’t enjoy it right?"

"The main adventure within Assassin’s Creed II is undeniably better paced than that of its’ predecessor. Each and every mission has been delicately crafted and is unique, with no idle busy work thrown onto the skeleton to inflate the scripted progress. Missions now swing wildly from assassination attempts to fighting guards, rooftop escapes and common thievery, with the odd errand thrown in to bring the player to new locations, and the new Tomb Raider inspired Platform sections are a fantastic..."

"One of my biggest disappointments in video game history was when Ubisoft released the first Assassin’s Creed on Xbox 360; that game could have been the epic title gamers were waiting for. Unfortunately it was plagued by a number of unforgivable issues, including repetitive gameplay, unforgiving bugs, and even some major story problems. Because of that my anticipation for the sequel was not nearly what it should have been, allowing me to go into this review with a jaded perception of the serie..."

""Nothing is true," said Al Mualim. "Everything is permitted." The point of Assassin's Creed - apart from establishing a hugely successful new IP for Ubisoft - was to avoid taking the old man's words literally, and to begin with you may wish you'd done the same with the pre-release hype for the sequel.
For months we've been told that Assassin's Creed II will be much better because, not unlike Desmond Miles strapped to the curvy Animus machine, it will be defined by the lessons of its ancest..."

"With Assassin’s Creed 2 being released this week worldwide, Ubisoft has released Parts 2 and 3 of their lead-up film Assassin’s Creed: Lineage, which chronicles events prior to the game.
Detailing a vast conspiracy in Renaissance Italy and featuring Giovanni, the father of the game’s protagonist Ezio, as the Assassin, the first of the films (fully reviewed by OXCGN here) achieved more than 1.7 million hits on YouTube in 24 hours.
With the rest of the film now released and fully viewable..."
The ESRB has given a final rating for Assassin's Creed 2 and to no surprise it is 'M'. They also gave details as to why the game was given this score. The game has strong sexual material and strong profanity. Oh, those damn horny Italians.
The last Developer Diary for the game Assassin's Creed II, Home Sweet Home, has been released.
Assassin's Creed II is a highly anticipated sequel to Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed.
The first Assassin's Creed sold millions and met with some generally favourable reviews. They had positive and negative things. But it seemed like the negatives were more noticeable. And the dev's noticed and promised to fix some of the problems with the first game. But a German Magazine company was told by Ubisoft to give the game a high score or they will not receive an early copy. They refused to do so as they believed in integrity (way to go!). But this begs the question, did Ubisoft do t...

Following his atmospheric score for the original Assassin's Creed, Kyd takes the music in an adventurous new direction and crafts an immensely diverse, melodic and progressive musical palette featuring acoustic and symphonic orchestrations with emotional depth and diversity."
"After dispatching a handful of enemies on the approach in close combat without too much commotion, it was time to scale a nearby building and grab a more informativeperspective. Five archers were patrolling the area, and while it may well have been possible to dive into the courtyard, complete the objective and escape alive, it certainly wouldn’t have been unscathed. Tackling the enemies one-by-one was obviously the best course of action, and doing so whilst remaining undetected by the others..."
"Up on the rooftops, you’re given far more free movement. While there are various city guards patrolling the rooftop, your mini-map highlights their locations, and so can easily be avoided (or quietly removed, if the fancy takes you). As most of the streets and canals of Venice are tightly packed together, just letting Ezio sprint and leap from rooftop to rooftop was great fun, and the controls flow smoothly enough to allow for last minute direction changes without feeling twitchy. You’ll a..."
"Whilst playing a level of the game at today's Eurogamer Expo, a Ubisoft representative told Connected Consoles that the game will not be getting a demo. This time however, this could be a safer decision for Ubi to choose as Assassins Creed II has been highly improved in most areas."
"Happy holidays everyone! Err…wait a minute. While it does feel like the holidays – thanks no less to Activison’s gift wrapping of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on November 10 – we still have a few weeks to go until Thanksgiving shows up and Black Friday follows. November is going to be a splendid month for gaming for those who are waiting for the holidays to come sooner rather than later. November should literally be called “Squember” since four out of our top five titles turn out to be sequ..."
"Assassin’s Creed 2 is out next month, and everyone here at Armchair Diplomat is looking forward to playing it this weekend at the eGames Expo.
But after hearing a little while ago that Leonardo DaVinci acts as Ezio’s gadget savvy “Q” in game, it put me to pondering: What gadgets is the renaissance genius going to break out? Here’s what I thought was the most obvious choice"

"Ubisoft’s promotional activities for Assassin’s Creed II began way back in May of this year, and to this point have never really stopped. Now, with the release date less than one month away, it’s unlikely that the marketing campaign will cease prior to this years’ busy retail season. This weekend, however, Ubisoft are stepping-out with the most encouragable aspect of their campaign to date: an invitation for the public to get their hands-on the upcoming Assassin’s Creed II weeks prior to the ..."
The first Assassin's Creed game had quite a good story. Many arguing against that, but others for it as well. But Assassin's Creed 2 plans to dig deeper into the secret world of assassin's and templars. The game has been revealed to have a total of 3 hours of cut scenes. Now that is quite a lot of story telling, more than most movies.
"Back at E3 Ubisoft announced that in junction with Assassin's Creed 2 a series of live action shorts would be released. With the folks who did the effects for the film 300 at the helm a lot of people were interested to see the world of AC2 brought to live and expanded.
After watching the first trailer for this endeavor I'm not exactly sure what to think. At times it looks cool with shots looking like they were ripped out of the game but at times everything just looks really off."
Assassin Creed 2's latest Dev Diary shows some brutal, intelligent and realistic combat with a little taste of their dynamic combat system. Not just your daily hack and slash anymore!
Here is a cool ad found in the latest gamepro magazine. The first page has the words "the first kill is the hardest" and as you try to change the page you will notice that they are glued. Wouldn't it be pretty sweet to say one of your good friends is Leonardo Da' Vinci? And wouldn't it be better to say that he makes invents crazy gadgets for you? yeah it would be, and Ezio is the only one who can say that. Check out this new trailer showing off some of the inventions of Leonardo Da' Vinci.

"For those of you that read teh title and are confused, allow me to educate: Kristen Bell has starred in Heroes and Veronica Mars and was the voice of Lucy Stillman in the original Assassin's Creed. In that role, the Abstergo employee and game character Lucy is in fact a secretive ally of Desmond Miles the much maligned and abused protagonist adn this time around playst a bigger role in the game.
Creative Director Patrice Desilets had this t"
Assassin's Creed 2's protagonist, Ezio, isn't a perfect person. Much like Altair, Ezio will have his own character faults. Ezio will be a womanizer and sex is going to be present in Assassin's Creed 2. If you pay attention to the first launch trailer, we see Ezio bribing prostitutes to help him with a kill.
"Once again PC gamers seem to be getting the shaft, as Ubisoft reveals via Twitter that the PC version of Assassin's Creed 2 won't be released until Q1'2010. Ubisoft's entire tweet as follows:
Assassin’s Creed 2 PC has moved to the first quarter of 2010. A bit more time for the dev team to deliver the best quality game to you.
The original Assassin's Creed PC port was released after consoles also, but at least in exchange we got DX10 graphics and new missions. So far, Ubisoft hasn't reveal..."

"Ah Venice…There’s just something so magical and surreal about the place. Featured in films from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade to James Bond: Casino Royale and games like Timesplitters: Future Perfectand The Club, it presents a perfect exotic local in which to set escapist entertainment.
Forgive me for the following nostalgia trip, but I arrived in Venice by boat a young 17 year old way back in 1989, the morning after a live Pink Floyd concert (these days you can watch it on Youtube)...."

A new trailer has been released for Assassin's Creed 2 showcasing some of the platforming and combat moves you can perform in the game. The trailer itself is set to an awesome techno song that works quite well. "Due for release across Europe on November 20th, 2009, Assassin’s Creed II will launch on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC simultaneously, with sibling release Assassins Creed II: Bloodlines launching on PlayStation Portable (PSP). Some new screenshots have surfaced showing off the upcoming title Assassin's Creed 2. Large, beautiful locations seem to be a theme with all these screenshots. It also appears that one screenshot shows a character helping Ezio in combat. Having characters fight in combat with you would be a nice addition to the solo style of fighting that was in the first title.

"Other than the original unveiling of the Assassin’s Creed II Black Edition by your very own Electronic Theatre last week, the UK has been short of word on an expected release date despite the continuing stampede of the game’s advertising campaign. Thankfully, Ubisoft have today broken the silence and announced the game will release on November 20th, only three days after it’s US release."

"As Electronic Theatre reported only two days ago, Play.com has been granted exclusivity for Assassin’s Creed II Black Edition in the UK retail channel. The first was whether of not we would spend more time as Desmond in this game, and that was greeted with a happy “Yes”. The second thing I was curious about was whether or not we’d spend more time and do missions outside of the main cities, and this was also greeted with a “Yes”."

It may only be a small step up from the teaser trailers, but 11 seconds of a target render trailer for Assassin's Creed 2 has come online via Youtube. It doesn't show much else besides the protagonist climbing up and then leaping down from a rooftop, but hopefully more will be revealed at E3.
"It's almost 2 weeks until the Electronic Entertainment Expo for 2009 and it is hyping up to be one of the best yet. After the less than great few years E3 have had with a smaller and less exciting environment, publishers and developers a like are looking forward to showing off their future products. Here are a few of the many notable events and products which you should get excited about - whether they happen or not is another question?"
"As suggested right here at Electronic Theatre earlier this week, Ubisoft have now confirmed that many of Leonardo Da Vinci’s inventions will not only be evident within the selected time period – the Italian Renaissance – but will in fact have a much greater affect on gameplay."
"The documentary trailer also hints that players will not only be skilled at athletics and the art of blending-in, but may also be able to control, pilot and use some of Da Vinci’s inventions. Seen in repeated displays of design sketches is the incredibly encouraging personal hang glider; which, although reportedly deemed ridiculous in Da Vinci’s time, has since been completed and proved functional. Some architecture is also shown, hinting at a return of the watchtower mechanic from the first ..."
Italian website mondoxbox.com has got their hands on some beautiful screenshots of Ubisoft's upcoming game Assassin's Creed 2.
The pictures are a little small and some have already been seen in recent GameInformer scans , but they are still amazing and worth a look.
"With easily five months remaining until release, raising awareness is clearly one of Ubisoft’s top priorities. Although strikingly similar to a video already released for the Hardcore Gamer audience, this new trailer will become part of a new advertising campaign throughout May aimed at a more general audience, and so has reportedly received tweaks for less discerning audience."
"We’ve got an inside scoop on Ubisoft’s upcoming title, Assassin’s Creed II, and it looks like the team in Montreal really went all out this time around. As you may know, the main character in this installment is Ezio Auditore di Firenze. He’s a much better swimmer than Altair ever was, and apparently more of a “ladies man”. We’ll let you speculate on the gameplay possibilities there."
So, the Assassin's Creed II teaser site launched recently, but something at least most of us didn't seem to pick up on is Ubisoft rating its own promotional campaign contained there, 18+, no less, this after censoring a Da Vinci classic.

"Today Ubisoft announced that Ubisoft Montréal is developing Assassin’s Creed II on all current-generation platforms for a scheduled Holiday 2009 launch.

"Medieval Manhattan. That’s what the little walled hill-top town in Tuscany named San Gimignano is often referred to for its many medieval towers.
Seen from afar the towered town looks like a smaller medieval version of Manhattan’s skyscrapered skyline. These towers were built by competing families both for protection from each other (think Romeo & Juliet) and to show power and prestige.
Assassin’s Creed 2 looks certain to take place in Renaissance Italy and specifically Venice. Howev..."

"The game is obviously set in Leonardo Da Vinci’s period (1452 - 1519) in Venice Italy. A fitting theme and location given the fact that Leonardo was excommunicated for his work on the human body and his various art works. During which a great deal of his work and plans were destroyed or hidden away to stop the church from destroying them.
His mind was light years ahead of anyone at the time, and still blows many concepts out of the water even in todays times. His work on the human body wou..."
