The Japanese branch of Ubisoft has revealed the box art and some details regarding the new Assassin’s Creed “Welcome Pack” bundle for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

While Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed series may not have an entire cast of made up characters (Leonardo Da Vinci, Adam and Eve...), it is original in it's own right. It's unfortunate, though, that an author of a 2003 novel disagrees and is now suing Ubisoft because of it.

The Assassin’s Creed Universe doesn’t just include the games that have been released on various consoles. The universe expands into comics, novels and even movies. Follow the timeline of the AC World in this video released by Ubisoft. Maybe it can entice you to branch out into other mediums?

The Japanese branch has revealed the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 box arts for Assassin’s Creed II Special Edition, which will be released this August in Japan.

Ubisoft’s servers went down over the weekend which rendered the PC version of Assassin’s Creed II unplayable. They first blamed the outage on "over whelming demand" but in a tweet today revealed that the servers were under attack.

The first Assassin's Creed game had quite a good story. Many arguing against that, but others for it as well. But Assassin's Creed 2 plans to dig deeper into the secret world of assassin's and templars. The game has been revealed to have a total of 3 hours of cut scenes. Now that is quite a lot of story telling, more than most movies.

Assassin's Creed 2's protagonist, Ezio, isn't a perfect person. Much like Altair, Ezio will have his own character faults.
