"Memorial Day is more than just another day for you to head over to your neighbors, have a beer, a burger and trade the latest stories. It’s a day when you remember the veterans who’ve sacked up to travel the world over and defend the freedoms we hold near and dear by doing the job that needs to be done. While there are multiple dynamics to how Warfighters get said mission accomplished – it sometimes results in the need to annihilate enemies with grim precision. As it has always been with Vide..."
I'm sorry, but I do not see what the fuss is about, it seems some gamers are never satisfied with what they are given.
SO what if it's not 12 hrs long, or that playing the Alien is hard, and the Predator has his own style of play etc. Isn't that what playing games is about, adaptation and entertainment. Come check out the review, rather critical, but hey, I'm not the reviewer.
"The Aliens and Predator universes coincide with one another, therefore every so often we see the two species battle it out with the human race stuck in between. The two movie series are some of the most well known science fiction movies in modern existence, so it is no surprise that SEGA and Rebellion would want to capitalize on this on-going phenomenon with a new game in the series. Aliens vs. Predator is a first person shooter slash melee combat game that pulls off the mixture quite well. Y..."
With Splinter Cell: Conviction right around the corner, a look back at previous stealth titles is a must. "stealth" kills however are a dime a dozen, so we here at the Kartel decided to compile a couple of the best stealth kill montages for your sneaky pleasure.
"A lot of people complain about Microsoft Points, saying they’re deceptive as to how much you are actually spending when the idea of credit like this is to help curb your spending or make you more aware of it. Even now we can be a bit loose with our cash but when it comes to online credit we are incredibly tight and unwilling to part with our “imaginary” money."
It's been a big rivalry ever since the original comics, but the constant stalemale between the Alien vs. Predator is an alarming thing. Thanks to the new PSN costumes for both characters, things can finally be settled with a PlayStation Home dance-off!
Developer Rebellion's long-awaited sequel to their Alien vs Predator franchise has arrived, but does the game do anything new to push the FPS genre further? Find out in this detailed review on the action-packed title.
"February was an incredibly busy month for video games, considering it’s only the beginning of the year. This episode, the guys from GamesCastLive chat about Mass Effect 2, Dante’s Inferno, Heavy Rain, MAG, MX vs ATV: Reflex and Aliens vs Predator. Find out what they had to say about these titles, as well as look forward to what March has to offer."
"Unsurprising as the announcement may be, it has been revealed today that Square Enix’s highly-anticipated Final Fantasy XIII has taken the top spot in the UK’s multi-format sales chart for the week ending March 13th, 2010. Having launched in both the North American and European territories on Tuesday, 9th March 2010, on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 simultaneously, Final Fantasy XIII has lived up to it’s expectations commercially."
"Craig is back from the dead to join Ronnie and Andreas as they discuss February NPDs, onLive gets launch date, Playstation Move, BC2 & MW2 Map Packs and loads more in news! And for what they have been playing its AVP, ODST, Yakuza 3 and Deadly Premonition."
"The multiplayer demo version of Aliens Vs. Predator allowed fans to choose between playing as an Alien, Predator or Colonial Marine and was available from February 5th until February 26th. Downloadable from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, PlayStation Network, and Steam for PC, the Aliens Vs. Predator demo hit an impressive 4.1 million downloads during it’s period of availability, despite reports of matchmaking issues on the PlayStation 3 requiring SEGA to relaunch with an updated version of the de..."
"SEGA Europe has today announced that from tomorrow, 4th March 2010, and for a limited time only, full outfits from Aliens Vs. Predator will be available in the European PlayStation Home Thread Store on the PlayStation 3."
"Aliens vs Predator finally makes its inevitable jump to the current-gen consoles and we couldn’t be more happy. Developer Rebellion have their work cut out for them to please fans of the franchise and previous games, but can this legendary battle between these three species live up to the AvP legacy?"
The Aliens and Predator movies are very popular and a video game featuring the two on the current generation hardware had fans highly anticipating the possibilities of what the game would be like. Today we look at the Playstation 3 version. Does the combination of two movie creatures make for a good game? Find out after the jump.
"One shop in particular has done something rather amazing; GAMINGALORE in Melksham, UK have created a full-size Predator costume with detachable mask and I must say looks rather good :)
Here are a couple of photos of the suit behind the counter."
"The two extraterrestrials from the Aliens and Predator franchise are fairly familiar with each other having been in several games and movies together, most notable however is the FPS Aliens vs. Predator from about ten years ago. Now the two aliens alongside the space marines are locked in another war that looks to please fans and new comers."
"Over the last few days I have been engaged in a conversation with Philip Kollar of Game Informer regarding GI's Aliens vs. Predator review and my response to it. While our conversation was private, I can say that I walked away from it with a far different point of view than when it began."
"My prayers for an online game that breaks the mold most games seem to be cast in these days have finally been answered as of Feb. 16th, 2010. Rebellion Studios have released “Alien vs Predator” for the PS3, Xbox360, and PC. Now some of you may recall the 1999 release of the AVP for PC and most of should recall the movies that inspired this game. Though not a huge fan of the series, I was eager to hunt my copy down, which is a long, bitter tale that ends in unexpected triumph. Let’s save that ..."
"Mankind has had a fascination with beings from beyond the stars ever since someone first realized that it was possible. They make feature appearances in our television shows, books, films, and even our music. Sometimes they’re benevolent creatures that wish to learn from each other’s culture and murderous experiences. Other times they’re rampant predators with no goal more complex than using us as incubators for their young. Whether they’re coincidentally humanoid or unbelievably hideous, the..."
All Age Gaming's Phong Nguyen bring's us the 30th AAG "The Week That Was". This week he discusses the need for a Wii price cut, Natal's possible lifespan, the showing of the PS3 motion controller at the Games Developers Conference (GDC) on March 11 and more.
"Of the three campaigns, the Colonial Marine has obviously received the most work. Not only the lengthiest, but also the basis for delivering a story upon which both the Xenomorph and Predator campaigns rely upon, the Colonial Marine’s game is actually better between events than at major turning points. The dark corridors with only the tick of your motion tracker for company easily create an atmosphere of impending doom, and the moment that tick turns to a beep your heart starts racing. As if ..."
"On Feb. 16th, 2010 the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC were all graced with Rebellion’s fresh take on the beloved Aliens vs. Predator franchise. This sexy first-person action/shooter game places you in one of the various roles of Xenomorph, Predator, or the colonial marines. With surprisingly smooth online play, three different single player campaigns, and the ability to munch brains with my little baby teeth"
"Besides influencing horror and action films, the Alien and Predator franchises turn a profit for game companies. Virulent Xenomorphs scavenging an industrial spacecraft for survivors is the perfect focus for a Run N' Gun, and bare-chested soldiers grappling Predators were sustained in arcade Beat 'em ups. The most successful spin-off is the Rebellion developed Aliens versus Predator for the PC in 1999. It renewed the scares and action of the films with three campaigns and multiplayer. 10 year..."
"For older gamers, the idea of an Alien Vs Predator coming back to consoles is a dream come true. Fans of the franchise have been treated to a couple of interesting movies. But the highlight of the AvP franchise was its debut back on the Atari Jaguar."
This is how the Predators' story will end in the new Aliens vs Predator. Do not watch if you do not want to be spoiled. Is it what you expected?
With Rebellion's latest game "Aliens Versus Predator" just a couple days from release, gamers are curious to see how the game gets along with critics. So far with a 5.75 from GameInformer and an 8.5 from IGN UK, it's a mixed bag.
Gamespot puts in their two cents, adding to the inconsistency from critics. Donning the game a mediocre 5.5/10, Gamespot states the game is fun and brutal, but the level design is poor, controls are inconsistent, and there are many small but incredibly deadly flaw...
"SEGA Europe and Rebellion has just confirmed that a new updated version of the Aliens Vs. Predator demo is available now on PlayStation Network. The first iteration of the Aliens Vs. Predator multiplayer demo has now been taken down from PlayStation Network and replaced with this new version."
The recent release of the Alien Vs. Predator demo has had gamer's talking about a number of things. There was a bug with the matchmaking systems on both the PC and PS3 versions, but the bug free (at least, no matchmaking bug) Xbox 360 version has recently passed an impressive 14,000 downloads.
Last week's Alien vs Predator demo was one of the most-talked about subjects. However, although the Xbox 360 version had no issues, PS3 and PC owners were out of luck with numerous matchmaking connecting issues. Even worse, it looks like the PS3 issues could be "ongoing."
"The Aliens vs. Predator demo came out last week may have heard developers talk about their “Rock, Paper, Scissors” mechanic. What does that mean? Does it mean that marine beats alien, alien beats predator, predator beats marine? Not in the slightest. If you have played the demo you’ve probably seen that the number of each race is limited, such as having only two predators allowed (which may indicate that the predators are overpowered). Let me tell you that this simply is not the case. From wh..."
The multiplayer mode of Aliens Vs. Predator seems to be a big attraction. Pitting three species up against one another is always exciting. However, a useful technique that players using the Colonial Marines rarely use is blocking. The video guides viewers through the technique so that they can hopefully incorporate it into their gameplay.
""After reading the review, I was amazed that it was even published in the first place. Could Ben Reeves give any less information, or points that would validate such a low score? It honestly read like he had played the game for fifteen minutes, and then spent another five writing the review. For someone who references the great movies that inspired the game itself a few times in this very, very, short review, I'm forced to ask....dude, did you even watch the movies?""
""The new Aliens Vs. Predator game developed by Rebellion Studios and published by Sega launched their demo for both PC and XBL today. Being the eager beaver that I am, I jumped right on Steam, started my download and waited like a kid on Christmas counting minutes before he can rip into his holiday booty. While this is just the demo and not indicative of the final product first impressions mean a lot. So if your a super fanboy and only want to see the positive and not the negative, I would st..."
Game Informer have taken the time to play the new Aliens vs Predator game, and apparently they aren't too happy with it. Awarding it an abysmal 5.75/10. See the scan (right) for the review.
Tim Jones, head of Art and Design at Rebellion shares with the Kartel info on the new melee combat system, the tricky balancing act between the three species, and why this is the most accurate AvP game to date.
Take a look at the default button layouts, weapons, HUDs, and abilities for each of the playable species (Aliens, Predators, and Colonial Marines) for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. Better get your R1/RB finger ready for a melee slug fest.
With hands-on game time playing Alien vs Predator’s new multiplayer mode, The Kartel gives its impressions on the new AvP match types, species balance, and melee combat system. Will this game live up to expectations? Read on for more!
The Aliens and PRedator skins for Multiplayer have been leaked, ranging from Grid(AvP the movie), to the exclusive preorder Alien Head Predator.
The site is in german, but the text basically describes each skin. The marine skins have not been shown as of yet.
Two highly anticipated titles from Sega will now require Steamworks for authentication. This includes both the retail and online copies. Sega Nerds highlights the upsides and downsides of this authentication process.
Steam has recently released their top 10 sellers for the week of January 17-23rd, and surprisingly the top sellers are actually Pre-Orders. With Mass Effect 2 being released on the 26th of January and being called by Time.com as "the Avatar of video games — except it's better written", it could hardly be surprising.
However Battlefield Bad Company 2 takes the second spot and has only been available for 2 days out of the 7 possible selling days. Although Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 stil...
"Independent videogames developer Rebellion today announced that corporate restructuring will take advantage of the expanded facilities at their Oxford Head Quarters and the Runcorn studio. The Derby facility, acquired from Eidos, is coming to the end of its lease, and staff are being consulted on its future."
Sega have announced that Aliens vs. Predator will be available in Australia on February 18. Sega have also announced 3 versions of Aliens vs. Predator, the Standard edition, the Survivor edition and the Hunter edition. Full details inside.

Set to be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC Games for Windows, Aliens Vs. Predator is currently in development at Rebellion Studios."
On The Bender this week, we have lot of random topics covered. We start out with a tiny bit of Modern Warfare talk, we get into what is going on with some of these "Game of the Year" lists, and somehow we end up talking about bible/God themed games. Listen live/stream with iTunes on this link. Download the mp3 directly here. And if you have Zune, we are also up here
SEGA's Aliens vs. Predator will arrive on UK shores on the PS3, XBOX 360 and PC formats next February, according to MCV.
Three editions will be available on the 19th. As well as the Standard edition, there's the Survivor edition and the Hunter edition, which comes with various goodies, including a Facehugger (and fortunately not a real one).
"Silent Hill 3
In a tight bind, when our bowels simply can’t hold out any longer, the standards for where we’ll rest our rear-ends drop sharply. But even if we had industrial strength diarrhoea, the one thing we’d always insist on is an adequate amount of light so we can see where we’re depositing our business. Sadly, Silent Hill’s dingy and disgusting John can’t quite keep up with these rigorous standards.
