"Between Activision pumping out a new Call of Duty every year, and Electronic Arts dropping a new Battlefield game annually too, I just can’t keep up. I still haven’t answered the last couple of calls (Of Duty), and I haven’t played a Battlefield game since 1943 (The game, not the year). After finally playing my unopened copy of Bad Company 2, the game reminded me why I love this series, even if I don’t spend as much time as I’d like with the franchise."
"With the release of Battlefield 3 just under a month away, and the beta dropping in a few days, this would be the perfect time to hop onto Battlefield Bad Company 2 and hone the destructive killing machine that is you."

MP1st Co-Founder Fahed speaks out on the current state of video game reviews. 'Day-one' or 'static' reviews don't do justice for multiplayer centric games like Call of Duty or Battlefield. A new, more 'dynamic' approach must be adopted in order to be fair to gamers and developers alike.

"Osama Bin Laden was killed this week and to mark the occasion, a list of the Top 5 assassinations in modern day shooters has been compiled. The list takes into account who gets killed, how they get killed, and how cool it was to kill them. When I put it like that it sounds a bit demented, but if you’ve played through these games, you know how awesome the moments are. This list does contain spoilers, so reader beware. With that in mind, read on to see if your favorite assassination has landed ..."

"Digital Distribution as we know it started in 1999 with Napster. Napster connected people in a peer to peer (P2P) network for the first time, and allowed them to share their files with one another, namely music files. This was a fantastic innovation, although unfortunately a humongously illegal one as it allowed copyright protected media to be shared for free. None the less, Napster set the foundations for the rest of Digital Distribution to follow."
"I have been playing a fair amount of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 of late on the PC, and have found myself playing as a medic more often that not. I quite enjoy using a LMG, being able to look past the inaccuracy and slow reloading times, not that I ever live long enough to reload anyway! Furthermore to this I relish the chance to save those respawn tickets, by bringing people back from the grave and saving them from the cold clutches of death. However I have experienced, and I regret to say ca..."
FPS fans will definitely want to check out this retrospective fan video compilation covering 30 years worth of games in the genre. We've come a long way, baby.

Although there is plenty of variety in the original multiplayer content, DICE have gone all out releasing a massive expansion for the multiplayer mode with its Vietnam DLC. Is this eagerly anticipated expansion to an already stellar game worth the price of admission?
"MMGN.com: "2010 was a big year for the gaming industry. The release of Kinect and Move for Xbox 360 and PS3 respectively has all but set in stone the direction which console gaming will be heading in the coming years. Long-awaited releases hit the stores and old franchises were rebooted with the help of keen developers.
There's no doubt that the console industry is flourishing. But what about PC gaming? This year has brought many to the conclusion that PC gaming is dead. But to say that th..."

"Even with the temporary absence of David the podcast stays strong with healthy discussions of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Dead Nation, Greed Corp, Halo Reach Noble Map Pack, Bad Company 2, and more.
We also answer the latter half of Ryan's emailed in questions, lament the unexciting news about the Uncharted movie, and hate on some bad movies."
"This is why DICE is my favorite video game company; they have just announced that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be getting four brand new maps free to VIP members. The first two are remakes from BC1; Oasis and Harvest Day, and the other two are all new; Cold War and Heavy Metal. Get a little more info of the maps after the jump."
Early gameplay reports from Raptr suggest that that Medal of Honor may have misfired in its initial week. Game-time with EA's newest FPS hasn't affected gameplay time with other popular first-person shooters.
Anyone with a car and passengers has had that conversation where the back seat (or front passenger seat) driver insists you pull over and ask someone for directions. It always happens.
Well apparently video games, namely shooters, improve decion making and ultimately make you a better driver who is less likely to get lost with that irritating cargo.
CoD fans with partners rejoice! Oh wai...

The UK charts for the week of April 10th have been released with Ubisoft's Just Dance being in the #1 spot in the second week in a row. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is in the number #2 spot.
Late last year some were saying that 2010 could be the biggest in gaming history and it certainly is shaping up that way. So, John from All Age Gaming sat down and compiled a list of the Top 10 games in the first half of 2010 (1st January to 30 June 2010). If the second half of 2010 is going to be better, then we are in for one hell of a treat!
2010 is shaping up to be one of the most jam-packed years in the gaming industry with many excellent games already released in the first-quarter alone. Here are ten can't miss games so far this year.
"Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the latest installment of DICE’s Battlefield series, and a direct sequel to… you guessed it, Bad Company. Since 2002 with the release of Battlefield 1942 on the PC, the franchise has revolutionized multiplayer gaming with the addition of progressive stat tracking and large-scale battles occurring simultaneously on land, air and sea.
Multiplayer
In Bad Company 2, up to 24 people can play one of several flavours of multiplayer. Rush mode has one team defending..."
Amazon has revealed the top 10 best-selling games on their website for the month of March as well as individual charts for the three consoles and more.
"Quarter 1 ends now as Quarter 2 looms over the horizon and it’s safe to say that this has been the best Quarter 1 in recent memory. Never before have so many great games been packed into the very beginning of the year. Usually we have to wait till Quarter 4 before we get the big-budget titles. March, like January and February before it was stuffed full of wonderful games for gamers of all."
This past March was packed with many new blockbuster releases as well as lesser known but equally as great titles. So which games stood out the most for the month?
The latest in a YouTube video series, "10 Ways to be an Asshole in Battlefield: Bad Company 2" is a fun look at the cheap or just plain stupid tactics players can employ in DICE's shooter.
"This week sees a fair bit of a shake-up in the UK's retail charts, with Just Cause 2 sitting pretty atop the all format charts, provided by ChartTrack. Having seen God of War III rise to the top spot and knocking Final Fantasy XIII from it's perch last week, it comes of little shock to see Square Enix taking the gold once again with their latest release. However, there are a few greater surprises further down that list."
After the success of Modern Warfare 2, EA's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 had a lot to live up to. Although a slightly different style of shooter, particularly in multi-player mode, the comparisons between the two big-time shooters was inevitable. All Age Gaming's John Elliott shares his opinion on EA's second Bad Company game.
""They have their style of marketing and we have ours, I love Battlefield: Bad Company 2, I play it, and a lot of guys here play it - and I bet a lot of their guys play our game.""
"Videogames players heading to i39 this April could return with more than new friends and happy memories as organiser Multiplay has unveiled the UK's biggest gaming bounty. A total of over £20,000 will be up for grabs across five separate tournaments, making this the largest and potentially most profitable competitive gaming event of the year."
"In addition to the success of 4J Studios’ conversion of Perfect Dark, Microsoft has published the titles leading the race for Xbox LIVE activity on both Xbox 360 and the original Xbox systems, as well as the top selling titles on the often overlooked Xbox LIVE Indie Games channel."
"DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio, has announced that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is on pace to be the top selling title for March 2010. With over 2.3 million units sold-through, according to internal estimates, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has become the best-selling March release on record in North America and Europe. Surely, it’s only the majestic Final Fantasy XIII that stands in it’s way."
"What Bad Company 2 does lack is a campaign co-op mode, something that would have markedly improved the game’s story. While your AI squadmates do their best to assist you, you’ll observe early on that it’s up to you to do the majority of the shooting. B Company will constantly suppress enemy targets, but unless one of them manages to come close to the group, rarely actually kill someone."
"Ever wondered what would happen if you mixed an intoxicated aussie bloke that spoke like Niko Bellic (GTA4) and made him think he was agent Smith from the Matrix? The answer is in this weeks episode of ThumbPad Season 3 Episode 4, so kick back grab a beer and take a listen to this jam packed ep full of gaming goodnes.....or should I say drunk group of gamers?"
Some would argue that one is simply better than the other, but they both are excellent games, but some excel in more areas than the other, and visa-versa.
Which in its self does not make either bad, just different.
Come check out what one OXCGN reviewer thinks of the comparison . . plus there's a decent video of the Multiplayer modes to take a squiz at while you're there.
"DICE and Electronic Arts are pleased with the sales performance for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and they want to share it with the world as the game is on track to become the best selling March release on record. Already the game has sold over 2.3 million units in North America and Europe for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360."
"The rivalry between EA's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues apace with the latest being a "PSA" on grenade spam starring New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia."
Something funny for Battlefield fans: Bad Company 2's Haggard and Kirilenko have just shown up in the cartoonified Heroes.
"Unsurprising as the announcement may be, it has been revealed today that Square Enix’s highly-anticipated Final Fantasy XIII has taken the top spot in the UK’s multi-format sales chart for the week ending March 13th, 2010. Having launched in both the North American and European territories on Tuesday, 9th March 2010, on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 simultaneously, Final Fantasy XIII has lived up to it’s expectations commercially."
"The Battlefield series has always pushed to deliver the pinnacle of serious and authentic warfare, however, with 2008’s Bad Company, DICE threw in a little humor and action-movie elements in order to deliver a new brand of miscreant warfare. Bad Company 2 has finally arrived and is set to leave a flaming trail of debris behind it. But is this company worth keeping?"

"DICE's sequel to Bad Company was supposed to be the big Modern Warfare 2 killer this year and it certainly managed to live up to the high expectations. Players of the first game will feel right at home. This First Person Shooter has the familiar B Company squad's banter throughout the many diverse missions and Destruction 2.0 steals the show. Along with the story mode comes an incredible multilayer experience which will keep you coming back all year long."
All Age Gaming's Phong Nguyen bring's us the 32nd AAG "The Week That Was". This week he discusses the PSN outages, the Playstation "Arc", the next instalment of Zelda on Wii, the popularity of Xbox Live and more.
""Some of the very rare weapons we show you how to find include the USAS-12S (slug version) same goes with the SPAS-12S. There is only one location for these weapons -- among a few others shown in the video guide -- in this game.""
"The single player portion is much cleaner and lacks the abrupt twists that Modern Warfare 2 had, but delivers a smooth experience overall. Multiplayer is spot on and will eat up hours upon hours of gamers’ time. Also those virtual-warriors who love to collect will find limitless pins, ranks, and medals to keep chasing."
"To everyone’s surprise March 2010 is a month full of epic video game releases, because in the past the first quarter of the year is pretty slow in the industry. This is the result of many things the most important being the fact that money is tight after the jam-packed Holiday gaming season. 2010 is a year for change as there are plenty of high-quality games coming out in the first four months of the year, for that reason we decided to list out the top 5 video game releases of March 2010 – th..."
"Battlefield: Bad Company 2's single-player story takes its cue directly from the previous game, returning to the titular team of four military miscreants, who after a long quest for gold are back in the Army, engaging in more conventional objectives driven by duty rather than personal gain. The same snappy banter and one-liners between Marlowe (you), Sweetwater, Haggard and Sarge thankfully remain intact, meaning that there's more personality in Bad Company 2 than you would normally find in y..."
"The comparison is bound to happen after release, but Bach wants to make one thing clear: “We are not trying to build the same game as our competition. We are not trying to be, you know, playing the cover band situation here. We want to be the stars ourselves.”"
"Strategy is the key word here. Unlike other spray and pray broken ass shooters that have come out recently, the only way to be consistently successful in Bad Company 2's multiplayer is to use your head and work as a team. When trying to take down an objective or capture a point, you only have a certain amount of troops to do so with. A team that knows what they’re doing and is working together can whittle those tickets down to nothing in no time."
""Even though the single-player campaign still isn’t where it needs to be, Bad Company 2 is definitely a great sequel that builds on its predecessor in every way, making for one that no shooter fan will want to miss, especially if you go online for your gaming.""
Here it is the launch trailer for Battlefield Bad Company 2 which was just released! The trailer shows a bunch of single player action and has defiantly got me pumped to play this game!
"A range of games are coming out this week. Baseball season is on the rise, a return to a classic, and full on war. Check out what's coming up with real and toy weapons as well."
"BBC 2 has stirred up some controversy as the multiplayer beta experience had been hit or miss for some people. After some hands on game playing with the final copy of the game, we can now definitely say whether DICE delivers another killer Battlefield game."
The Kartel has played both games now, and has a final verdict on which single player campaign is the best. The article goes into detail about the storyline, characters, and gameplay features for each game, without revealing major spoilers.
Dedicated servers...check, PC community happy...check, didn't give console gamers the ability to cheat in multiplayer...check.
If you have all of the above then you are the only sane people in the business. Bad Company 2 releases March 5th in Europe and earlier for other countries, so what else can you do after you've already kicked your competitor down in the dirt? Correct! Rub salt into their injuries by adding easter eggs into the game that is set to take them down a notch!

In the article it contains two television advertisements that are expected to win people over to the Battlefield Bad Company 2 game. In the European version added you can tell they they directly take aim at Modern Warfare 2 players, when one of the comments included states that the game "..is a better online game than Modern Warfare 2" - PSM3.
The question is, will the game hold true to these expectations and will the game possibly break the sales record set by Modern Warfare 2? With only ...
"
When I heard that DICE was making a Battlefield where you can blow up anything. I didn’t believe but, when the first Battlefield Bad Company came out, it was great to blow everything and everywhere. Now in Battlefield Bad Company 2 they make that destruction 10x times better. Modern Warfare 2 doesn’t have any destruction like taking down a whole building with C4. Modern Warfare 2 get a little boring without changing the environment. With Battlefield Bad Company 2 t..."
A brand new episode of the onCAST podcast is now ready to listen to! On this weeks episode Ronnie and Andreas talk about some BioShock 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in the what they have been playing section, and for news its new Twisted Metal game rumor, EA shutting down servers, and much much more.

"The boys from B-Company are back and I could not be more excited. Dice's next installment in the Bad Company series is pushing the envelope on what an FPS should be on both the console and PC. The sequel to EA's 2008 surprise smash hit looks to expand on the original in every way and in the process, take our favorite gold hunting grunts to a far more serious setting. To paraphrase a quote from the Dice development team, “The Honeymoon is over for B-Company”."
"With the launch of the game right around the corner, Amazon is having a pre-order deal for Battlefield Bad Company 2 Limited Edition. If you've been holding out on this game, it maybe time to get your pre-order in. Normally they have a $10 game credit for those who pre-order but this time buyers will get a $20 game credit good for their next purchase."
Here are two videos showing some of the best and worst FPS' ever released. Not all of your favourites will be in there but I had a laugh watching some footage of the worst games ever. It beggars belief how some of these games ever got released.
Check out these two youtube videos of some of the best and worst FPS' out there. It doesn't include all of them but the "worst" video is definitely worth a look, some hilariously bad games in there such as Rogue Warrior and Extreme Paint Brawl.

"In an interview with Eurogamer.de, Magnusson said;
"I certainly respect our colleagues and they have made a first-class title on the legs, but I think we simply have a better, richer multiplayer experience. Exactly what we wanted to achieve and I believe we succeeded in that, too.""
"
This is just ten minutes of Bad Company 2 footage that I quickly put together. A variety of situations, decent amount of action, and a lot of atmosphere. This is not meant to be a total ownage video, just something to show off what the game is like."
"This new trailer showcases some in-game action from Battlefield: Bad Company 2, on the map known as Port Valdez. We watch through the players’ viewpoint as they drop into the battlefield, grab a vehicle and speed into the action, taking down a few enemies before assaulting reinforcements held up in buildings with a helicopter. Quite an introduction, it could be said."
"This week Andreas and Ronnie discuss Apple's latest announcement the iPad along with GTA DLC coming to PS3 and PC, patch released for Darksiders, Monster Hunter Frontier announced for 360 and Red Steel 2 coming March 23rd in the news section. And for what they have been playing its Mass Effect 2 and Bad Company 2."
"Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was a "Surprize" released on Xbox Live yesterday 28th Jan 2010 after much anticipation from fans of first-person shooters. The Playstation 3 version already had its beta late last year and the PC received its beta starting today. So, how does the “non-beta” multiplayer demo on Xbox 360 version shape-up?"

"With 10,000 beta keys to give away and an anticipated 100,000 downloads of the client within the next few days, Multiplay's Fileplay site really has established itself as one of the key players in gaming file distribution. Multiplay has also been chosen as one of the few global providers of the official ranked servers for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Following on from a long-standing support of the Battlefield series Multiplay is set to provide many thousands of player slots form launch."

Steam has recently released their top 10 sellers for the week of January 17-23rd, and surprisingly the top sellers are actually Pre-Orders. With Mass Effect 2 being released on the 26th of January and being called by Time.com as "the Avatar of video games — except it's better written", it could hardly be surprising.
However Battlefield Bad Company 2 takes the second spot and has only been available for 2 days out of the 7 possible selling days. Although Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 stil...

Senior producer Patrick Bach appeared on the show and stated that the game's singleplayer campaign will be "about ten hours in length". Plus with the footage you see in the video, there will be plenty of sc..."
"Every so often I hear people talk about how they miss the days when Japan ran the game industry. I don't think they so much miss the days when Japanese developers were on top of the world as much as they miss the days when Japanese developers/publishers actually worked in large to promote creativity rather than just follow trends. With the sequel DICE is stepping it up a bit, making sure Bad Company 2 feat..."

Its predecessor took the Battlefield franchise to a new level by adding the ability to basically destroy any building using all the weapons at your disposal. Bad Company 2 looks to improve on that and from what I played it looks like DICE is on the right track. I only got to play the multiplayer portion of the game ..."
